Em is ALWAYS paying homage. He wears shirts with album covers he loves so that people can be curious and check those artists out who helped mold him.

He literally said he's naming those that he grew up on and his influences.

he performed before the speech,

Em always been a student of the game and he took dat and ran wit it even with his privilege he still has paid his dues & respects to the MC’s that inspired him and have paved the way for his successes of his career etc. true Goat Of Hip Hop Forever!👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽🐐🔥🌟

'88-'92 era doesn't usually get enough love

Juan Ep is, indeed, life.

Bro that’s like coming out with a all time nba list. It’s so many, somebody’s gonna get left out.

Andre 3000 and em have convos about hiero.

My theory is he is only naming people pre 96 (when he released his first album Infinite) *apart from Big Pun.

More of this please.

Great content juan ep, keep it up

this is gold. we appreciate you fellas. and i wish you guys could’ve broke down each artist. that would’ve been cool for those who don’t know! there’s definitely a few i had to Google 😂

I think it’s dope as hell that he included as many women as he did. They get left off all these hip hop inspiration conversations — unless a female rapper is being asked who she looked up to and it goes as far back as Kim and Lauryn and Foxy. So this is dope af.

his list is HIS inspirations not just a salute to everyone thats nice at hip hop. The guy used his entire speech to give recognition to 120+ artists. Mos Def will be fine without Eminem mentioning him and so will everyone else

Real talk. I kinda teared up.

Greatest content Ever......!!!!!!

Love the video.

It has been said

Lord Finesse, Lords Of The Underground, Mantronix, Masta Ace, MC Breed, MC Lyte, MC Shan, Melle Mel, Merciless Ameer, Mobb Deep, Monie Love, Nas, Newcleus, Onyx, Organized Konfusion, Outkast, Andre 3000, Paris, Pharcyde, Queen Latifah, Rakim, Redhead Kingpin, Pete Rock and CL Smooth… I’m almost done.

Redman, Roxanne Shante, Run DMC, Salt-N-Pepa, Slick Rick and Doug E. Fresh, Snoop Dogg, Souls Of Mischief, Special Ed, Stetsasonic… now I’m all down to the S’s. I think he was mentioning cats that somehow someway captivated his ear at the time he was really fascinated with rap music. Skinny Boys for example…I hear that name and immediately I’m singing “Skinny. They can’t get enough. Skinny. They can’t get enough” that tape was my shit and Stop Crying featuring Flavor Flav.
