This is not a traditional Dominican breakfast. They ordered American breakfast in  my home place of 🇩🇲.  😅

Back in March 10 2025 my girlfriend and I visited dominca on board TUI cruise ship. We were there on a Wednesday and I remember so many of these places im seeing in the video. We had food at one those restaurants, the food wasn't all of that.
And I'm from the caribbean myself, and I was kinda disappointed that my fellow islanders food wasn't off the chain. Could have done with more spices and herbs.

We did some river tubing and visited 1 of their Warter falls, and that was certainly the highlight. Those places were nice

The kfc in Dominica is the best I have had in Paris London and Amsterdam

Used to run the streets of Roseau with my two younger buddies in the mid to late 70's on into the mid 80's.  In those days there was no cruise ship and consequently not so many tourists. It was difficult to get to the island. On weekends we would run until the wee hours after an evening at the 'Night Box' and end the night by finding a commercial home built oven buried deep inside the rabbit warren of narrow paths in the shantytown there ( I think the new stadium is on that site now?). Fresh hot bread at 4am was the poop!  Breakfast in the countryside would be the same bread with eggs or a thing we called 'Bakes' which was flour, water and leavening or perhaps an egg if you had one. Bananas were always around if you could keep the birds out.  Dinner in Roseau was usually around 9pm and would involve a trip to a local bar on the beach that made jerked chicken and served rum drinks. I would visit the US on holidays and bring green arabica coffee, cocoa, cinnamon. nutmeg as xmas gifts. I miss Dominica!  I almost forgot 'baked crab backs!  Half the fun was chasing them down at 3am with headlights and bags!' Or the local large crayfish endemic to the local rivers. Masks, fins and a homemade little speargun was all you needed.

I'm Dominican. Thanks for featuring our island. But I wouldnt go to Dominica and eat quesadillas. That's not our island dishes for breakfast neither waffles or the bland looking eggs
