Well, we got home today (back to Canada) from this resort, spent 10 days there and it was amazing. Super clean, gorgeous grounds, yes there's buffet food then restaurant food, I agree some of the dishes are less than great, however what do you expect with all-inclusive chefs also cook in the restaurants. We ate at 10 restaurants besides the main two buffets and really only had 1 bad meal...ambiance can be lacking but again, you've got Dominicans doing their best to make sushi, cmon! I believe it's the biggest resort in Punta Cana and just walking around it it is truly palatial...we got the premium package and perhaps that's why we felt great about the whole experience...our teenage kids especially loved the unlimited room service.

In march the pools were fine, cold is good when you're burning from that Caribbean Sun!

Please dont listen to bad comments, even if the Hotel is perfect, people will be mad because of the price....people want a 5 stars for 500$ for a week.....

The expectation is always that you will get a big bang for your bucks when you go to a resort, regardless what level you choose. Me personally, I’ve hard a great experience the last three times I’ve been with my family to Barceló Bavaro Palace. The past two times we’ve been there we chose premium level. That category takes your staying experience to a whole different dimension.

Been here and the ADULTS only side as well & this resort has NOT let us down at all that the kids/grankids are going this summer with us. Not sure WHAT experience this dude & family had but possibly  made all for a post.

This resort is amazing.  The only NEGATIVE thing is the price. They SKYROCKETED!!!! They should be ashamed of themselves. But it's the best one that I've been too

I agree with everything in the video, I booked this resort after reading the reviews on Google, but unfortunately they are fake 5 star reviews. I stayed here and it’s not what the reviews mentioned, the rooms were nasty, the wifi didn’t work, we lost power in our room, and the Mexican food experience was terrible for us, we got food poisoning!! Only if I saw this video before I booked my stay.

Booking a Premium Level room and it is WAY better than a standard room!

We've stayed 6 times, going again soon.  The buildings are getting old but there's no excuse for not being clean.  I've never experienced the attitude that you encountered.  That is just wrong.  I agree that the beach is great, the pools are nice, although could use some upgrades to the tiles.  I have never found the food to be excellent.  We return in spite of the food.  I would say, don't go for the food, go for the beach and pools etc.

I am just wondering if you were in one of the premium level room, I am seeing good reviews for premium level rooms.  I am deciding to upgrade to premium level or not, your recommendation will definitely help me

Hi brother, I am Dominican, I live in New York and I will be at that resort in April of this year. I have never been to that hotel. I hope to have a good experience and not have any problems with the room. Even though I am Dominican, they don't care. I was going to cancel it because of some things I have read on the internet but I decided not to do it because I am going with an all-inclusive package from NY to Punta Cana and that hotel is already booked with everything and the flight. Greetings and blessings.

Yeah , I hear you bro !!!  DR is NOT worth the money we pay anymore . Resorts that used to be $3500 for 10 days just 4 years ago ,, are now MINIMUM $5500.  But that's not the worst part . So many horor stories from there . Lot of issues in the rooms like bugs , AC not working , mold ,dirty sheets , noise that you can hear from other rooms and so on . Stuff at reception DON'T CARE .  In every DR resort they have so called "Entertainment teams " . They are not there to "entertain you but to try pick up girls from Canada and USA . Those guys 25- 30 years old  even aproach my underage daughter . They even harassing girls that come with their boyfriends . Shortly in DR , there is so many ways that your "Dream vacation " can GO WRONG . Think twice before paying $5000- $10 000 to go there. If you still decide to go try to go to newer resorts because they are run by outside investors , NOT LOCALS . I think after 20 or 25 years they go to the hands of locals and in those places are more problems .

pro tip... tip the maid and the floor supervisor, tip the floor supervisor more... my room is always spotless when my wife and i stay their. if you think you shouldn't have to do something like that. stay at a true 5 star place. this is a budget friendly place.  and you get ALOT for what you pay here.

I had the same experience with the manager. Not wanting to speak with me about my concerns or resolve any issues. They billed me twice for my stay and refuse to give me my money back which they told me one will be fully refunded but I never received anything. I will not revisit this resort. Honesty is a big thing to me and these people aren’t.

I. Agree the wifi at this resort is not good.I also agree that they do not appreciate tips as much as as they do in Cuba. I will not return to this resort.
