I love the alternative methods you are employing (like using little flat head to remove UniJoiners)
And just to fill in the "expensive" blank..... the Kato terminal joiners are $6.49 CDN per set for those not interested in soldering or unable to.
Kato part # 24-818 (works for both HO or N scale Unitrack)

Always the little details that take extra time. Nice work even if that method makes me cringe haha. I burned up a few bits of plastic joiners before going to the way I do them now. As long as they still work and do what you need them to do. Especially when you have so many to make.

Hey Dave . I 've been making my own Kato feeders for years now. Those silver piece of the joiner just pops out of the plastic when you put a little screwdriver in one end of the plastic joiner. then you put the silver joiner in a 'helping hands' alligator clip. Solder wire to the underside, pop the silver bit back in to the plastic holder. No melted plastic or deformed joiners ever! There are plenty of online vids on this method.

just a little point that may help......see if you can make a jig that say holds those clips. without the track touching them( cut the rails back a couple of inches maybe) as the rail works like a heat sink taking away some of the irons heat so it will take longer. so it MAY work better
