A step-by-step tutorial showing 12 Microsoft Teams new features in September 2026. This new Teams Updates include how to expand and collapse the app bar, test your microphone and speakers before a meeting, use the new Meetings experience, report a suspicious meeting, add Planner to shared and private channels, test notifications in Settings, explore the revamped Teams Webinars experience, and use the new Events app.

I’ll also cover four new Copilot-powered features: Video Recap, the Recap app in Teams, selecting and dragging over text to have Copilot explain it, and selecting text and right-clicking to use Copilot. The final four features require a Microsoft 365 Copilot license.
