This was the last song before the intermission, which was a good thing, because we all needed time to recover!

“One of these days I’m going to cut you into little pieces” must be one of the best lyrics in a song without any lyrics ❤️

I met David Gilmour in 1984 back stage at a concert in Hollywood Calif. He gave me a signed album that I have in my music room. We talked for 22 minutes. I called him…“The Master Of The Stratocaster” He smiled. I asked if I could shake both his hands that make such great guitar solos, he smiled bigger and said “Sure” and shock both hands at the same time, making a cross between us, I smiled HUGE. I asked him to describe his technique of playing guitar, he replied… “I strike a note, bend it, shake it and then release it”…. Yes, he does that quite well.

This is an incredibly difficult track to perform live.......the sound, the lights, the production, the stage direction, the film crew, the performance......everything is just mind blowing.......when a band performs and sounds better live than in the studio, you know that you have hit on genius

The Floyd's sound system at this concert had a total of 232,000 watts...believe it or not. Thanks gentlemen!

There was nothing... I repeat... NOTHING like being 17 ( asI was ) when this happened. To this day, their music brings me to tears of pure incredulity.

remember walking home from that Concert in London. We walked to the tube station got the train home and just thought yeah that was a fucking magnificent Concert same again next year. We didn’t realise this was it that music had reached a peak but nothing would ever be as good again.

Fun fact guys: if you look up the word ‘Musician’ on Wikipedia it shows you a picture of Guy Pratt, the bassist here. Long time Floyd collaborator and one of the best in the business.

Pink Floyd is one of those bands that you don't really like until you learn to appreciate good music and great musicianship.

Dave Gilmour on a lap steel guitar. He's one of the greatest all time all round musicians. His string versatility knows no bounds. Has played bass on some albums too.
