Setting My Eyes West continues with Episode 2! The countdown to Twisted in Texas is getting closer, and Stella — my 2023 Harley-Davidson Street Glide — is getting some important maintenance and upgrades before the 2,500-mile round-trip ride to the Texas Hill Country.
In this episode, I’m focusing on the rear of the Street Glide and making sure everything is ready for the miles ahead.
I replace the rear brake rotor and brake pads, check the moisture level in the rear brake fluid reservoir, and install a new set of Progressive Suspension 412 rear shocks.
The Progressive 412s are a big part of getting Stella set up for the long haul. With plenty of highway miles ahead and some great riding waiting for us in Texas, I want the suspension and braking system ready before pointing the bike west.
🔧 In this video:
• Harley-Davidson Street Glide rear rotor replacement
• New rear brake pad installation
• Rear brake fluid moisture check
• Progressive 412 rear shock installation
• Motorcycle maintenance before a long-distance trip
• Preparing Stella for a 2,500-mile motorcycle road trip
• Twisted in Texas / Texas Hill Country ride preparation
This is Episode 2 of the Setting My Eyes West series, following the entire process of getting Stella ready, making the ride from Georgia to Texas, and experiencing Twisted in Texas and the Texas Hill Country.
