Why are the Beatles the uncontested GOATS? Because this is a deep-dive album track -- not a hit, not a single -- and yet it's one of the greatest songs ever made by anyone.
That's John playing that tasty lead guitar solo BTW.... Lennon wanted to end the song by continuing to build until there was nothing but white noise, but it would be too long to fit on the LP. So during the editing session he famously yelled "CUT IT RIGHT F*CKING THERE" and here we are.
subscribe from Australia 🇦🇺 did you say The BEATles...more please...to think this made the Album yet John's single released around the same time COLD TURKEY didn't ❤😊...oh well... l love this reaction My Mate ❤🎉😊 bring the heat 🥵 🔥 ☀️ 🙌 👌 the ending was on purpose...just is 😊
What a great track on a great album. This song is such a trip and then you have that long drawn out drone like ending, a second of silence where you are all tensed up by the experience, and then the Beatles rescue you with Here Comes the Sun. Brilliant.
Many, maybe myself included, consider A Day In The Life their masterpiece. But I Want You (She’s So Heavy) is maybe The Beatles’ absolute peak as musicians and artists. Every one of them killed it at this one.
This album features The Beatles at their best instrumentally, both in their musicianship and their sound. And Ringo has such freedom in this song it's simply enlightening.
The Beatles landed in America in 1964, this was 5 years later... 5 years and no stone is left unturned, every member of the band was still in their 20s, no foreign act before them with the exception of a piece of soundtrack music was successful in the US before them. They first got played in December of 1963 in the US and by February of 1964 had a number one single, within 6 months held all top five spots on the US charts at the time. All songs that would go on to be #1 From 1964 to 1970 and 21 #1 songs... There's the Beatles and there's everyone else.
