How do you make a habitat feel natural in Planet Zoo? In this adventure, I'm putting everything I've learned about natural habitat building to the test as I create a new Eurasian Lynx habitat for Caledonia Zoo — and prepare for the next generation of Planet Zoo in Planet Zoo 2.
Over the course of building Caledonia Zoo, I've been learning that creating natural habitats isn't simply about adding more detail. It's about how terrain, rocks, planting, water and structures are layered together and blended into one believable environment.
In this build, I'll be sharing the techniques I've been learning along the way — from sculpting terrain and creating natural rockwork, to layering vegetation, building a realistic Lynx shelter and designing guest viewing areas around the landscape rather than the other way around.
This is another step in the Bard's journey towards creating more detailed and natural-looking zoo habitats in Planet Zoo 2.
Welcome to Caledonia Zoo, Adventurer.
