I have all of my CDs going back to around 1984.

Your video is going to help drive up those prices man!

You guys should try Columbia House, you get 12 CDs for a penny!

I'm glad that I never got rid of any of my old media. Over 1k CDs that my kids won't have any idea what to do with.

Oh I already have. I went from owning 100 CDs to over 200 CDs in the last year. Lots of them new, some of them used (which is how I always bought).

I've recently been buying CDs more so for the nostalgia sake of being a teenager, working in retail, seeing the artwork, new releases. Something about the cover art just intrigued me so much.

I've been collecting CD's since 1985 and haven't stopped yet.  I've got about 1000 in my collection and add a couple every time I run into something I can't pass up.

I never stopped buying cd's, got a sweet collection right now

I downloaded all my CDs to my NAS and I haven't listened to Spotify since.  Just went out and bought 17 CDs for $100 today at my local shops.

I started seriously collecting in 2018. Since then, It’s been a dream of mine to see CD’s triumphantly re-emerge. I really hope this catches on, again.

I enjoyed this presentation. While I agree with your assessment of discs from Japan, I believe a lot of the first run cds were also mastered or remastered in Germany. Germany is known for their high quality pressings as well. Thanks, Randy!

I get my kid 2 cds a week at the local record store.  He looks forward to the trip each week.

Thrift stores shouldn't be ignored.  I've found a little bit of everything INCLUDING great Japanese pressings.  Sometimes, it is about discovery :)  Discog does own, though.

I have a 500 plus CD collection built over 30 plus yrs. After copying/ripping them to iTunes while ago I was able to transfer the whole library to an Eversolo A-6 HD where I can access them from the comfort of my couch.

I started collecting CDs in 1985. I still have my original discs in their cases. Recently I've been adding to my collection by shopping thrift stores for music from the 80s and 90s. Most of them are priced from 1.99 to 2.99. There are ways to save 20 or more percent, too. I also purchase new CDs from retailers. I miss the days of walking into my local music cd store to listen to discs before I buy. Those were the days for sure.

The first thing I did when streaming started becoming popular was get hold of all my fave albums on CD :) They can't delete my playlist!!

Not only do I still have all my CDs from when I was a kid, but I also still have the longboxes for them.  I never really stopped buying them, the cheap secondary market of the last 10-15 years has been amazing.  I will miss the days of cheap CDs because that's how I discover new music (new to me at least).

Been collecting for over five years now, remember buying my first two CD’s, a copy of Bowie’s Hunky Dory and The Essential Kinks from Barnes and Noble

I've been selling CDs in my eBay store for four years.  This requires four steps:  acquisition, grading & valuation, listing and shipping.  What I've noticed about acquisition is that it is becoming harder and harder to find NEAR MINT CDs.  With any collectable, condition is a key component to value.  A common CD in NM condition might sell for $10.  If it is VG+ $6-7, VG $3-4.  The same CD is worth more than double if it is in excellent condition vs average condition.  I don't even bother to sell it if it is under VG condition unless it is super high value or OOP.  I find it intriguing that grading is rarely discussed in videos about CDs.  My store has an ultra high repeat buyer rate.  Why?  I use discogs grading system, and it is a rare seller that does so.  Customers get used to and trust my grading system.
At some point the condition of the CD, the booklet and the back inlay will become a big factor in all valuations as it is with any collectable.

I have a modest collection of about 240 CDs. I am 63 and they cover what I consider to be the music that shaped my life. They are mainly from the late 70s and thru the 80s. The collection only grows now by 2 or 3 CDs a years with new releases from artists I follow now. I play them on an old NAD CD player thru the Arcam A5 and Kef R300 speakers and its sounds wonderful. I am sorted.
