You forgot Ma Long's 2015 World Tour Grand Finales win. Before 2015 and 2016 I've never seen such firm authority from a one player over everybody else.

The amount of hard work he put to stay right at no 1 position is immense. He should be on the list of highest paid athletes in the world.

One of the few players that benefited from the new ball. Poly ball really fucked over Zhang Jike’s game and most other players while Ma Longs playstyle allowed him to be minimally affected by the ball change, making it one of the factors of his domination in the mid 2010s until age and injury started creeping up and Fan Zhendong reached his peak in form. However older Ma Long is a different beast on its own and is only matched by other beasts like FZD or his younger self.

Absolutely fantastic video! I really love the balance between diegetic and non-diegetic audio, which is something that table tennis videos don't always do well.
On another note, janus770 uploaded olympic final highlights on dailymotion as Olympic has taken down any on Youtube.
Thanks so much for making this !

Great video, great editing, i like that you put in only good resolution clips. Its a shame that we still cant watch the olympic games with full HD on youtube.
