This is the Frenchest film I've ever seen.

When she opens the dreaded  contraband and its a toothbrush and toothpaste i laughed so hard.

I’d give this film a chef’s kiss, but I probably shouldn’t.

Stunning. A black-and-white glimpse into desire and longing in a repressed society with women at the center and a final heartbreaking scene that slayed me. Strong performances, cinematography, script, score and sound. ❤

Stunning dystopian short. Beautiful and unsettling in the best way.

FYI for those who missed it. The character's names are no accident. The older saleswoman is "petulant," the young saleswoman is "malaise," the customer is "angina," her husband is "chagrin."

One of those films where you must save all your questions for the end

So beautiful, and full of little details - the coffins that are designed by the husband, the music, the set, I could go on. Hats off!

An absolutely gripping film, both darkly humorous and chilling. It's a powerful allegory about how desire and yearning clash with a repressive society, ultimately leading to a devastating question: "What if those in power could erase love?" Brilliant performances by Zar Amir Ebrahimi, Luàna Bajrami, Aurelie Boquien, and use of narration by Vicky Krieps. Sumptuous black-and-white cinematography. A directorial triumph. This film is an eternal rewatch! ❤

I wish I could pay for stuff by receiving slaps.

The slapping as the form of currency seems to make this society even more dystopian, to make us a little more disoriented in this setting.
