The Green and White Cabover was my Granddad's truck. This was his bit part in the film.

Interesting fact that Transam was close to reducing production on its car due to poor sales, 3 days after this film was released they had a two year waiting list.

A classic scene from a classic movie.

Hal Needham asked Reed if he could write a theme song for the movie. Reed wrote wrote song in about 15 minutes in his motel room the night before shooting began. When he played it for Needham the following morning, Reed worried it might not be good enough and offered to rewrite it. Needham immediately responded with, "If you change one note, I'll kill you!"😄

To the rest of the country it’s a movie, here in the south it’s a documentary

Great movie, I never get tired of this movie. I must have seen it at least 100 times

God I wish I was alive to see those days! The days where the safest place was a mothers womb, and the trans am was as hot as salley fields!!

And this kids is still why I run a CB radio to this day. Great movie.

Back then that was the car to have, everyone wanted one

Remains TO THIS DAY my favourite movie of all time.  Love that they recruited real truckers from the area!

The CB lingo. Use to love hearing my dad use it when we traveled from NY to Bama.

I rolled cow town to border town to catus patch to flag town to shakey town and back many times in the 70's

I sure like that when that Kenworth is passing all those other trucks to keep that cargo going it reminds me of what I used to do a lot on Interstate 5 cruising along between 70 maybe 80 mph when I was driving my Kenworth powered with a 3406 caterpillar and she would love to run at that speed especially when you had the road to yourself between 2:00 in the morning and 6:00 in the morning!!!

Takes me back. Love it. 😄

This scene shows that there really is NO WAY the law will ever catch up with the Bandit so long as every trucker and gear head in America is his friend. Enough said.

I love this scene and could watch it over and over...we're going into the rocking chair honey...LOL

My great uncle was driving the Cofer brother's truck. he never cashed the check he got for driving. He kept it framed on his wall.

Gotta be my favorite scene from the movie.  The starter on the Pontiac is classic police pursuit engine.

I just noticed that before frog crawls into bandits lap the gear shift is in neutral. Gear shift is vertical, in drive it would be at an angle.

I love the 18 wheelers movies each 1
