I have been LIVING by "If it's not a hell yes it's a hell no" and I have saved untold amounts of money on clothing alone. I'm notorious for thinking "i like this shirt but xyz is off" and then never ending up wearing it BECAUSE OF THE XYZ REASON. WHY.

SAY IT LOUDER!! Freedom should not be a privilege.

Just throwing some love in your comments to ensure the good outweighs the bad  ^_^

I learned a lesson the hard way on using scent boosters. They had me in a chokehold! I would get all the new scents, until my washing machine started leaving behind a gelatinous sludge on my clothes and in the machine. A repairman told me it was due to buildup from the scent boosters. I stopped using them and now my clothes are actually clean and I'm no longer spending money on something unnecessary. I'd advise against using scent boosters and fabric softeners for the longevity of your washing machine and your clothes.

I'm a new subscriber, your warmth, intelligence, and personality drew me in. Thank you for stating what you and your channel stands for.

As someone who can only use free and clear laundry stuff, I agree that no one needs a million scent boosters in their laundry 😆

Sorry this is off topic but I gotta mention it whenever candles and diffusers are involved- many of these substances, especially the diffusers, are toxic to pets! If you have pets, probably just get rid of the essential oils entirely. We used to have candles going all the time but learned some of them are toxic and realized there was no good way to look up everything that might be in the candles to see which ones are "safe."

you are quite literally my guide for not purchasing unnecessary things and thinking about consumption in new ways... you need to be on a ted talk forreal

I am standing exactly where you are standing!  AND as an embarrassed American, I also stand firmly with our Canadian neighbors!

Not Taking Supplements is a hot take??? Man Idk I always just felt supplements were... to supplement something you lack? Like you need extra iron or b12 for a medical issue. I don't think they are necessary if you are trying to have a balanced lifestyle, not perfect but trying.

So curious about your process in choosing what book gets the honor to hold the mic

I love buying cute winter/fall jackets (especially fall!!!) My fiancés job in the store is to NOT let me buy another jacket. Don’t even let me look at the jackets!

My hot take that actually saves me money: I stopped thrifting for clothes.

I would go to the thrift with a specific piece in mind ie. running shorts, I’d find the “perfect” pair and buy them but when I try them on at home, I hate them.

My thrift hasn’t had change rooms since covid and I also can’t return items, only exchange. So I quit the thrift.

I very rarely buy clothes anyways so when I do need something new, I’ll buy it new from a store where I can a) try it on and b) return it for my money back if I don’t like it

I was in a book store yesterday. A paperback was 18€! 18€!!! I remember when they were 7€! I will never buy a new book in my live again 😭

I’ve been taking the free bus and walking this summer. It’s healthier and isn’t lobbying against my rights

I think its so important, that you speak up about those political topics. Because for me personally I cannot chill on comfy content, when I have the feeling the creators just ignore whats going on right now to not "disturb the chill content" and i think its horrible to close your eyes on all that. So thank you!! :)

Pothos are also great plants to propagate so once the one you have grows long healthy leaves you can cut them and plant more. Like free houseplants in a way 👀

You've been a huge influence on my spending habits since I started watching you. I have a slight shopping problem but I've been so much more aware of what I'm consuming and cut back on a lot of impulse buys. I also got a kobo instead of a k*ndle because of you lol. Thanks Tay :)

I thrift A LOT to save money and I buy some of my books at my local library to support my community. Because of my job I also get a lot of gift cards, mugs and tea which also helps me save.

Thank you for this great vid and for ending it how you did. I can understand the negative backlash a content creator can get when they share raw and personal content specifically regarding politics. I stand with you and I’m definitely one of the many people negatively and sadly impacted by what’s going on in the US. I think more than ever we all need to show each other genuine kindness and compassion - it won’t make the 💩 we are living through go away, but it will make us feel less alone in it. The weight of everything feels lighter when we’re not carrying it solo. So thank you, for your voice, your honesty, and your courage to share. It matters. You matter. And you’ve reminded me that even in the mess, there’s still room for grace, truth, and connection.
