I went to Cordoba expecting a quick stop before Seville. I left having barely scratched the surface.
By the 10th century this was one of the most advanced cities in medieval Europe with paved streets, running water, public baths, things most of the continent wouldn't see for centuries. Then it fell apart, got rebuilt, changed hands a few more times, and somehow most of that history is still standing.
This video covers the Mezquita-Catedral, the ruins of Madinat al-Zahra, the Roman Bridge, and the old Jewish Quarter, along with a lot of walking, a lot of heat, and one very unexpected Waldo sighting.
