“My worst nightmare is waking up with a wife” we know Tony.

Tony calling that guy a loser for having a 9-5 is so revealing for his character. The guy is cringe embodied.

His disdain for normal people is unsettling

The best bit is Tony acting like his comedy is above being surrounded by adverts for Tide pods. He seems not to remember that his show has adverts, and he has to read them out, and they're for pube trimmers

Rick’s solid for defending his friend

Pete Holmes said "Tony looks like he's trying to hide that he was bit by a zombie"

I love Tony being uncomfortable, crossing his arms, and having the worst body language while saying "sure, yeah, let's get into it" re: the bullying story.

Let’s not forget when Tony said he made Shane Gillis.

Tony insinuating his “craft” is “art” is the funniest thing he has ever said.

8:32 "tony is acting like the guys cleaning toilets" bro chill im a custodian lmaoooo

Tony films open mics and thinks hes the saviour of comedy 😅😅

Tony is actually describing Kill Tony on Netflix when he describes his worst nightmare

Tony believes network television panders to the lowest market, yet has David Lucas on his show regularly lol

Damn, I totally forgot about Tony going on Rick’s podcast back then. Wouldn’t surprise me at all if Rick remembered that and specifically chose to be extra quirky and out of control because he knew that it would piss off Tony lol

rick glassmans biggest problem on that stage was that he is actually funny.

"I was not a bully. I was just the straight forward guy who was notorious for making fun of people"

Glassman knowing that flexible disease name and Tony not having a clue was hilarious

He asked to talk about it more, and Tony's posture went into defense mode by crossing his arms.

That nightmare he shared is like a window into his subconscious, showing how much he identifies with his role and how fragile that control truly feels to him. For someone like Tony, the show isn’t just a platform; it’s his validation, his sense of worth, and his way of asserting dominance in a chaotic world like comedy.

On one hand, he needs others to shine for his show to have value—his guests, the rookies, the unexpected magic of spontaneous comedy. On the other hand, he can’t let anyone overshadow him, because that would threaten the control he craves. It's like he built a stage not just for comedy but for his ego, and the tension between sharing the spotlight and keeping it all to himself is bound to show cracks.

That fear of losing control could stem from the fact that he probably doesn't feel fully secure in his own abilities. He might not have enough to stand alone, so he leans on the talent of others while desperately trying to stay at the top. It’s almost tragic—he’s trapped in a loop where he depends on other people to succeed but can’t allow himself to fully embrace that dependency because it feels like weakness.

It’s also telling how transparent he is about his fears without realizing how revealing they are. That lack of self-awareness might be his biggest blind spot. His unconscious desire, might not even be about control—it might be about recognition, importance, and avoiding the fear of being irrelevant or unimportant. His nightmare isn’t just losing the host role; it’s losing his identity.

I really despise Tony. The way he justifies killing Rick’s friends dream is really disgusting. He thinks he is above everybody else. I’d rather be broke and humble than be a huge asshole for money.
