10:26 The white "X" was added in WWII in which they were permitted to haul heavier loads than their power classification specified.

this is absolutely PLDs best yet.

It’s been proven that 5972 ran in the ‘crimson’ livery portrayed…

When not being used for filming, it ran numerous times as Olten hall with BR late crest…   (likely for licensing reasons).

These are some really good looking Halls. And the best part is, No 7907 in sight! :D

I love the Modified Hall class, specificly Witherslack Hall because I've rode behind her and it was fantastic 💯🤙👌

Capel Dewi Hall also has a claim to fame as she deputised  for Failed Pendennis Castle in1964

I just noticed how the oil burning hall still has coal and a shovel in the tender

7903 is still holds the steam record from Plymouth to Paddington in under 4 hours in 1952

This looks quite a pack, I may download a copy some time!

I could be wrong, but I think that, on Great Western engines, the 'X' mark on the cabside indicates that the cylinders have been bored out slight, so that engine can be given heavier loads than would normally be entrusted to engines of that class. As for 4965, I think the smaller tender isn't a problem as it normally does relatively short-haul trips (Shakespeare Express etc).

Thanks for the presentation!

P.S. Exeter WOOO!!!

with 4965 from what i can find it appears it was just saved alongside the loco and paired with it. 4965 is however not currently mainline certified cos the cylinders are to big but rumours speculate 4965 will return with cut down cylinders and oil firing tho again just rumours

Why am i struggling to get a top list of steam loco from cw, pld, etc "you should buy" on YouTube? 😢 Any recommendations for Christmas?
