i’d rather see evelyn complain about clothes that are not 100% cotton but wear the same clothes for 2 years than have a rotational closet clean out every year

love how woke these comments are.

comments feels so twitter coded like someone said "over consumption is bad" and you got people arguing that statement 😂 erica is an adult and im sure she can take these constructive criticisms and pple pointing out aren't even being rude about it.

Over consumption is not cute, the sooner people realise the better, especially bigger influencers

Hi, Erica! I hope you and the rest of the people reading this won’t take this in a bad way. But knowing you through your vlogs and your sister’s, I know that you will be more than understanding of this issue. According to Earth Day in an article published in 2024, overconsuming clothes has a much bigger environmental impact than most people realize. Producing new clothing uses harmful dyes, releases greenhouse gases, and relies heavily on synthetic fabrics like polyester, which shed microplastics into our rivers, oceans, and even the air every time they’re washed.
While donating or thrifting helps extend the life of some clothes, it doesn’t solve the problem of overconsumption. Many garments, especially those made through fast fashion, are low quality and eventually end up in landfills. That’s why I hope next time before buying you should think of it properly first. The most effective solution is to buy fewer clothes, choose items that will last, and make the most of what we already own. Reducing unnecessary clothing consumption is one of the best ways we can lessen our impact on the environment.

Every new piece of clothing comes with an environmental cost. Whether it’s made from cotton or polyester, producing it requires resources and creates pollution. That’s why reducing unnecessary clothing purchases is one of the most effective ways to help the environment.

Overconsuming clothes contributes to climate change as well because every new garment requires resources and energy to produce, releasing greenhouse gases that warm the planet.

We’re already seeing the effects of climate change around the world. Europe has recently experienced record-breaking heatwaves that have been linked to thousands of heat-related deaths, especially among older adults, highlighting how dangerous rising global temperatures can become. While the fashion industry isn’t the only cause of climate change, reducing unnecessary clothing purchases is one meaningful way we can help lower emissions and lessen our environmental impact.

Love from the 🇵🇭

Edit:

Being told to “mind your own business” for raising awareness about an issue that’s quite literally contributing to environmental destruction and affecting the lives of thousands of people is genuinely baffling. Then there’s the inevitable, “Give the girl a break,” as if asking people to be more mindful is some sort of personal attack.

How insensitive and close-minded do you have to be to dismiss concern for both people and the planet as something worthy of ridicule? The very planet you live and take advantage of.

It’s interesting how spreading awareness is suddenly perceived as “hate,” despite me never saying anything hateful. If that’s how it was interpreted, that says more about the interpretation than the message itself.

And saying, “People buy clothes all the time,” isn’t the counterargument you seem to think it is. That’s precisely why awareness matters. The entire point is to encourage people to be more conscious of their consumption and, hopefully, lessen its impact over time.

Awareness doesn’t require perfection. It starts with conversation. Dismissing that with “mind your own business” doesn’t make the issue disappear, it only makes it easier to ignore. Grow up.

Disappointing to see overconsumption being so normalized these days

9:28 i’m DEAD bro evelyn was like “yeah no wth is this i’m dipping” 😭😭

I LOVE HOW SHE KEPT GETTING MORE AND MORE CREATIVE WITH THE TRANSITIONS😭

the transition are on SPOT wth 😭😭

people talking about overconsumption but at least shes giving it away to people who will actually wear it instead of throwing it away. stop hating on this video

cant lie, im absolutely IN LOVE with Ericas fashion style🥹

this is not 'hate' or an 'attack' so do not take it as such and do not reply to me as if i'm a brainless hater, but i hope you can change your purchasing habits after this.  i'm not saying you are a the biggest overconsumer because you are not- there are many people who are worse and most of us are overconsuming to some extent. however it is so important given the state of the environment and labour conditions to be extremely thoughtful about our purchases.

it is almost exclusively wealthy influencers who do massive closet cleanouts like this. if you are a regular person reading this comment, do not think that this is 'normal' (do not think that the average person is doing this). we all go through periods where we want change and have times where we realise that our things do not match who we are now. influencers who do this are not going through something completely unique and different to what the rest of us are going through. it is normal to get rid of things, buy new things, and sometimes make mistakes where we buy something and later realise we don't need/want it. however we have to make an effort to scale this down because the impacts on the earth and on people are devastating. our actions have consequences on other people so we need to always be prepared to hold ourselves accountable.

i'm not saying you exclusively need to change your purchasing habits, we all do. i'm glad you said you shop a lot on depop and i hope that in the future we can all change our shopping routines to be more mindful and avoid being in situations where we even own this many clothes to give away

No way she started the video by saying “my clothes r shit and outdated not cute so that’s why I wanna sell them to u guys!!!!” 😂

owning one of Erica's tops is the closest I'll have to Ha sisters merch haha

so reallll erica 60$ is insane for a used unknown brand

babe why don’t you try that thing of like you rent clothes for a month then give them back and get a new load??

Overconsumption final Boss. You don't need more clothes

“they all look like crap they’re basic they’re too ugly they’re outdated” so you’re selling them to us? 😭

you’re strong for giving away clothes you love cus i would feel conflicted and keep it

9:31 THE WAY EVELYN BACKED OUT HAHAHA
