Everyone is definitely underestimating these new actors and the direction they’ll have, this show will be super in-depth it seems

So refreshing to find someone with a phenomenal take on the new series without hating the movies and giving every new actor a fair chance, im so with you my man!

Great reaction - and I agree, I think Snape is going to be amazing in this series.  Paapa Essiedu looks and sounds great.

Great reaction! I'm very excited to see this new take on one of my most beloved franchises! It looks amazing and I think the new Snape is gonna surprise everyone! Paapa is a member of the Royal Shakespeare Company and has multiple acting awards so I'm confident he's gonna give us a memorable performance as Snape!

Solid solid solid reaction. Totally with you. Tired of people saying "what's the point" when they might have not even read the books

5 ⭐ for this reaction! I loved the trailer and I can't wait for Christmas. It's going to be amazing! I love that a whole new generation of kids get to experience HP for the first time in their own way for them today. And as a HP book lover I am so ready for this! The movies were great for what they were but I need some things addressed and fixed! lol

I agree! I think new Snape has the right energy.
And I like the movies, this is an edition to the same world.

David Heyman, from the movies is the Executive Producer for this show and he said in an interview that many of the sets are practical, not CGI. I like that we get to see more that wasn't even in the books, like Ron getting his letter. Also in that scene, it shows how Ron is overlooked because Molly is preoccupied with Percy getting his prefect badge and the twins are causing chaos as usual and it was casually mentioned by Ron why he has hand-me-downs but they can flesh it all out in the show. Even in the first trailer, there is Petunia cutting Harry's hair which was like a one sentence memory but they will use it to show how cruel the Dursley's really are, which the movies glossed over because it was geared toward kids so I get it, but this has a PG-14 rating so expect a darker take on things.

the best review/take i've seen so far! bravo

I am very excited and getting more excited by the day.  I am very impressed with everything I've seen so far.  Thanks for the enthusiastic review.

Oh, as far as I know, the reason for the difference in titles was a marketing decision by the US publisher Scholastic.  I don't thing it was a right's issue.  Scholastic thought "Philosopher" sounded too academic and not magical enough for a US audience.

Solid trailer reaction, Matt.

I’m going to be as reasonable and justifiably honest as I can with this:

As a Harry Potter fan (even with me hating the creator’s bullshit nonsense disrespect towards certain communities), I would love to be excited for this except that I’m not okay with the fact we’re just redoing the books again with more screen time for certain things that didn’t get to be expanded in film and nothing from the trailers or such has given me any reason to give it a chance.

If this was like The Mauraders show that got canned or something else in the world of Harry Potter, I would be excited for it but I just don’t care about this show.  And that hurts me saying this because I should be all in about this but I’m not especially with the JK Rowling controversies that I feel are justified because the transgender community are human beings and they should be able to enjoy this franchise without its creator being a jerk to them.  But I wish the kids and the actors the best of luck especially with so much bullying and all.
