Watching this in 2025, I'm just like "gawd damn, 35 a month is a damn good price for a gym membership."

The most underrated movie ever. People that have never seen it think its nothing more than a fight movie, but this has so many threads - particularly around men's mental health, fathers and sons, just being a man in general. Absolutely, criminally overlooked.

“You merely adopted the gym. I was born in it , Molded by it “

"You owe me $200" is the crème de la crème. I must have watched this a hundred times and it never gets old.

One of my most favorite movie scenes ever. I love it when arrogant people get put in their place. Tom Hardy is AMAZING.

Tom Hardy's capacity to identify with the characters he plays is astounding; This was one of finest performance on the big screen!

I love it that when the dude asks Tommy if he fought before, you can see his eyes are saying he fought in the battlefield too.

That little, "Remind me not to mess with you." When we all know he would skull drag that kid is wholesome. Just making the kid feel good about himself.

Tom Hardy’s traps deserve their own credit in his movies. Every time he bulks, he grows these massive traps most men can only dream of. Absolute unit of a man.

7:20 The banker playing down his daughters heart condition as '"just a lot of stories" would probably send some guys into giving that banker a heart condition.

I used to work at the movie theater when this came out, I found myself quickly trying to walk in and check the theaters this was playing in as an usher until I watched the entire movie in like a week in 10-15 minute intervals. I eventually acquired it on Blu Ray as soon as I could back then. Fantastic flick.

6:12 - You fight like a younger man with nothing held back. Admirable but mistaken.

Hardy would have made an epic James Bond. A superb actor and a bit dangerous with it.

Hardy is such a phenomenal actor. His expression when Mad Dog mocks Tommy as he was walking away. You can see he decided in that moment to kick Mad Dog’s teeth in. So subtle but so telling.

So intimidating when he says, “you owe me 200 bucks.”
