imagine hearing this for the first time in the 70s. literally no one, literally has ever heard literally anything like it

I don't care what anybody says. This is the heaviest song of all time. It is ominous. Foreboding. Frightening. Dark. Primal. Literate. It isn't vulgar or gratuitous.  Fantastic performance.

It’s fun to imagine being 18 years old in 1970 and having heard nothing like this before. The thundering rain and bells from the intro to the studio version sending a slight shiver down your spine as you’re not sure what is to come. Then the crack of the guitar and crash cymbals like lightning starting what would change music forever. Throughout this song you can hear the signature sounds/ rhythms that were Adopted by the many many bands to follow. Metallica, Alice In Chains, etc. absolutely amazing.

Ozzy's "Oh noooo" is incredible. The emotion in his voice like he's actually horrified. Legend.

Can't believe he's dead! RIP, dear Ozzy!

And thus, metal was born. Through a comination of workplace accidents and sleep paralysis, an entire genre awakes.

imagine idolizing the beatles, then fronting one of the most heaviest, opposite sounding bands in the world... ozzy is king here

His fingertips being damaged in an industrial accident and him making his own makes it so much more metal.

I’m just imagining what must’ve gone through people’s minds when they first heard this in 1970

I think I'd have a full on panic attack if I was one of those hippies in the crowd. This is the definition of mind-melting.

Imagine being a hippy in the 70’s, turning up to this show high on LSD and hearing that main riff for the first time ever. That would be some nightmare inducing shit

Starts like some kind of hippie-song....then turns into a bloody nightmare : hippies got a stroke

That Tonys riff before song ”Black Sabbath” is just perfect

This gets the whole different meaning, when you realize that in 1970 there was nothing heavier than this on the planet. People were literally witnessing the history.

The Old Testament of Metal.

human race doesn't know how much lucky it is to have this footage

2025 baby.

The balls they guys had to play this music back then is insane. Much love to these savages.

And METAL was BORN !!!

1970.
Led Zeppelin - Live at royal albert hall 1970
Deep Purple - Live at Granada TV - 1970
Black Sabbath - Live in Paris 1970

this show is a very important one in music history.
