During the Silver Week holiday in September 2026, Typhoon No. 25 approached the Boso Peninsula in Chiba Prefecture, causing extensive damage in various parts of the prefecture. About half a month has passed since then, but the Uchibo Line, which connects Soga to Awa-Kamogawa, is still unable to operate on a section between Anegasaki and Kisarazu. While the section between Kisarazu and Nagaura has been almost fully restored and is expected to resume operation, there are no points or switches at Nagaura, the turnaround point, making it impossible to switch between the up and down lines. Therefore, equipment completed in about a week is being used to address this issue, and when I went to check it out, a train happened to enter the section that was currently out of service. It seems that a test run had begun, and I was able to witness the entire process twice.
