Animal Crossing New Horizons is better than I remembered.
After having a feeling of nostalgia I recently decided to play the newest game from a series I adore. Animal Crossing New Horizons. But, after realizing that I lost my copy of New Horizons, I decided to play New Leaf instead. I remember having a much better time in New Leaf, but I never really gave it critical thought. Lets see where this goes...

The thing that stands out to me about New Leaf is a sense of time. I used to play in between school, and if I woke up early, the jocks would greet me. If I got on late, the club would be open and the cranky villagers would be out and about. If I didn't play in a while, villagers would leave and move in. It felt like the game had a life outside of mine, and that made it feel like an actual place I could escape to.

The stress of naming things that’ll last for the rest of a playthrough is very real…

The whole time capsule thing was so adorable. They will eventually ask you to dig it back up and open it up with you together. I really wish Villagers were this interesting and fun in New Horizons

Dude same!! I recently got back into New Leaf after playing New Horizons for the past 3 years, and when I tell you that was a different AC experience… it was DIFFERENT. In all the best ways :-) So happy the ACNL community never died, now I just need more people to take their 2DS/3DS out so I can get more Streetpasses

I think just one word changes how I describe these games. New horizons is “your island”, while new leaf is “your town”. One is very personal, you can do whatever you want with it. But the other isn’t JUST yours, just a place you belong to. It’s shared.

New Leaf did have the best music, hands down.

Weirdly, I miss the island from New Leaf despite New Horizons being on an island. I just really like having access to an easy way to farm bells, and the minigames are a fun and missed feature.

Al is legit my favourite villager. he's a cool dude. he gets a bad rap.

14:54 i actually think it’s really sweet! to me it’s like isabelle spent her time finger painting (or in her case, paw-painting) the wallpaper just to give you a special housewarming gift!

dude, I was so surprised to see that this video only has around 50 views and that you somehow only have 400 subscribers. This is so good! I love your art and editing style, this was actually such a treat to watch. I hope you gain more traction cause you 100% deserve it. Keep up the great content! :D

New Leaf hás something like this reality, Sense of life. Not just NPCs talking. And when you Interact more with the villagers, knowing bit by bit theyr past, visiting the houses, etc. You really want to talk more with each one.

People whose first AC game was New Horizons, in my opinion, haven't really experienced true Animal Crossing. Also, the MUSIC in New Leaf was 10000x better than in New Horizons

My first game was new leaf. I loved it so much that i started to slowly collect the older games. And while I think that new horizons has a ton of quality of life improvements, i think that it's missing the charm the older games had. Especially in the villager department. Personally I love how rude the villagers were particularly in the GameCube version and wild world since forming a friendship with them felt much more rewarding. The villagers in New horizons feel empty, which I think encapsulates the feeling I have with new horizons it's a great game, but the older games felt much more alive.

New leaf content, one piece reference and fun commentary - amazing video haha

I would say. It's a more 'true'(?) Animal Crossing Experience where new horizons is more of like a sandbox. I wouldn't say it's any better, but it has its own strengths. Just like how new horizons has its own strengths. That's something i've kind of picked up on over the years.
