My academy, was like: "what's this?"
"axe."
"Alright have a nice day"

''so i spray water on the burning things?'' ~get this man an ax he nows everything about what we do

That woman second from the left front row can get changed so fast.

when they’re practicing putting their gear on and off all i can think of is slow is smooth and smooth is fast.

I laughed when that instructor handed the recruit the axe. I thought it would be like a Marine Recruit handing his rifle to a Drill Instructor.

Currently in fire academy, and I’m loving every minute of it.

I have been recently obsessed with watching fire training videos because I was to be a firefighter/ paramedic when I am older ( I’m 13) so watching these have been amazing to me

This is awesome. Really wanted to be a firefighter here in Houston but it’s almost as if the city hates our fire department. No respect from city officials.

Just watched Michelle's video. That's why the firefighters are my superheroes. Amazing people!!

I went to EMT school in late 2012, went to standards in early 2013, got hired in late 2013, went to paramedic school last year, and just got signed off as a standalone medic a few months ago - it's been a lot of fun so far :)

No shaved heads? Get to wear sunglasses? This is the life!

On my way out of high school, I’m high key interested

9:45 that dude standing up fully geared is gonna save my life like how when they class started and started getting dressed he was already at he jacket  and looks around waiting for his team mates

Watching this makes me realize how cheap our city is smh.

imagine wearing all that gear on a summer day and going inside a burning building, must be madness

I just graduated from the fire academy in Michigan and this helped me a lot before I started 5 months back. I’m always watching you guys videos. Keep up the great work !

I love that these punks saying the military style of being a firefighter is cringe. Don’t want the wrong people getting into fire fighting

PPE donning..... man they pounded that into us the first week.

Here in New Zealand I've recently become a Volunteer Fire Fighter, absolutely love every second of it, the training is full on but its everything i wanted and more, i have lost 16kgs, now and feel fitter and healthier then ever :) Fire service is great career or volunteer where ever you are in the world, we get to save lives and that's the best thing about it.

I just finished my firefighting training here in south Australia as a country fire service
