Genius. It's easy to make something when you do it the prescribed way with tools people have sold you. Regardless of what people may assume, it's far more impressive to do scrappy engineering like this. Great work
I love the background music while you're making the pickup! I've learned so much from this video----I've watched it several times. The only part that wasn't clear to me had to do with attaching the coil wires to the lead wires, but I bet you show that in more detail in some of your other pickup videos. Thank you for your creative, innovative, educational, and very entertaining videos!
It's fantastic to see people throwing out most of the ''rules and myths'' and just going for it and getting results that are pretty damm close to manufactures quality for a fraction of the price. I've often thought that the price driffrence from 30 to 150 bucks gets a little ridiculous and that probbably from 50 bucks you're just paying for the name. Nice video and nice pickup.
Man, I love your content. I'm just kinda sad that the Mythbuster guitar is 3-4 years in the making and still not done yet. Hope you're doing okay, Clementine!
So I can easily mod my old duncan designed humbuckers with those neo magnets and get the pickup working to my taste... man you saved me getting rid of one single and three humbucking pickups... Please go on these series. Rock on
This is EXACTLY what I needed as reference. I have a cigarbox-inspired guitar build that I am working on (still working on the body which I'm building from scratch). It's a thin guitar so I can't easily fit a full 6 string pickup on it but I'm pretty adamant on putting a P90 on it. Sadly, it's hard to find 4 string P90's, so I'm going to be building my own.
I m in the middle of winding a rickenbacker bass pu. Thanks for the inspiration. And yes, wherever there is a hidden agenda, you can find a myth. Good work.
