The best sc-fi tv show by miles.
Great to hear the stories behind the scenes.
Gerry and Sylvia were head and shoulders above any competition.
I am 67 now and the Anderson shows are a big part of my tv memories.
Always unique in their ideas what a talent to dream all those shows up.
UFO would stand up to any sc-fi show today.
Just proves how good UFO is , it can be shown today 50+ plus years on and does not look dated.
Thankyou Gerry and Sylvia, your sadly missed.

My favourite TV series. Growing up in the early 70s (pre Star Wars) the special effects were amazing.

I’m 60 now so grew up with the Anderson’s shows.
One of my earliest memories is queuing up with my mom on a miserable wet night at a local cinema to watch the first Thunderbirds movie. Well worth the queuing 😃👍.
I loved UFO as it looked so futuristic. Can’t believe it’s all 50+ years ago now.
Thanks to all involved

Michael Billington ( Colonel Paul Foster) came to our school, about a year or two after UFO came out, to judge a competition. As you can imagine we thought he was so cool and he was very patient with us answering many questions from earnest young UFO fans . Sadly he died relatively young in 2005 and his death was followed by Ed Bishop just five days later.

In 1971, the series was broadcast in Italy. I was 6 years old. I was mesmerized. And even now, owning the DVD collection, I still watch it from time to time with great pleasure. A magnificent cast, beautiful sets and stories, and above all, an unmatched overall design. Special praise goes to the design and creation of the models and special effects. Amazing!
Not to mention the opening theme. An absolute cult theme even today

One of the best shows ever. Must've watched it at least 10 times or more ❤

Well this has made my 62nd Birthday weekend! Thank you! While I was already a big fan of Thunderbirds, Captain Scarlet, Stingray and Joe 90, UFO became my favourite show. Long may it be shown and enjoyed by those of us who saw it first time around, and those seeing it for the very first time.

It was great to watch talented people talk about their work and come across genuine and sincere. There was no disingenuous phrases like, super excited, amazing, the most beautiful and talented person on the planet etc, it had old school British vibes understated and giving credit where credit is due, which in todays world is so refreshing. Excellent documentary.

What a delight Matt Zimmerman was! And how fantastic to see all these actors reminiscing! Thank you so much for posting this!

Anderson's UFO and Larry Cohen's The Invaders were peak alien invasion. Thank you for a wonderful documentary - I could listen to this stuff all day.

Im 62, born in 62. UFO, for me, was spectacular. I was - and remain - a Century 21/Anderson addict.

Captain Scarlet and The Mysterons was ground breaking, then UFO raised the bar. Ed Bishop was a tremendous actor. UFO was excellently cast.

I still have the Dinky Interceptor, in its original box. Golden memories.

Still my favourite television program after all these years. The Technical Operations Manual (book) is worth every penny. Highly recommend. ❤

What a warm, thorough and entertaining documentary. Great to hear these detailed on-the-scene anecdotes and perspectives for those interested in the history of these kinds of shows - and this is a masterclass in documentary-making, itself: great editing and pacing. Really terrific, well done.

I used to love watching UFO after Thunderbirds! It was really thrilling to watch on TV back in its day! Thanks for a real in-depth showing! As it gave is a real viewing, that allowed us to get into it! Bravo!

Grew up with Captain Scarlet, Stingray etc , then Gerry made UFO and I was totally amazed at the storyline and effects . Just a pity there wasn't more of UFO made .
I'm 62 and Gerry made my childhood Totally Amazing. He was definitely one in a Billion.
Godspeed Gerry 🙏🙏🙏🙏

The very best show on TV of all time….and with what’s happening with UFO today, still relevant. Meddings & the designs just can’t even be matched even today!….Tremendous and as a 62 year old now and a 7 year old then, still haunting…utterly amazing.

A fun and informative documentary. UFO remains one of my favorite TV series. The combination of great scripts,,terrific special effects, compelling characters, good scripts and great acting makes the show a standout in science fiction television. I still rewatch the episodes and enjoy them as if I’m watching them for the first time.

OH MY GOODNESS MY FAVORITE SHOW AS A KID, A DOCUMENTARY, BRAVO!! My Birthday Weekend, Birthday Monday 61Lord Willing

You didn’t mention this, but I thought Barry Gay’s music score added a powerful extra dimension that greatly enhanced the series. His music timings are carefully crafted to expand the mood of every scene - and his catchy and memorable UFO Theme Tune in the opening credits gave the series its own unique identity.
