This script actually sounds like the best one out of the first three movies! It’s a shame it got so watered down even if the movie is still ok and really entertaining.
Dang the writers of the original script clearly read the comic books and understood the assignment. The only change I like in the final cut I like is Batman throwing a bunch of coins so Harvey can’t find his coin which leads to his demise.
You can actually tell that the core idea for Batman Forever is psychological: Bruce Wayne having nightmares, witnessing a person who loses his parents and becomes an orphan, seeing this person desiring for revenge, etc. They were able to position Dick Grayson as a parallel to Bruce's own history wherein Bruce has to be the moral center of this individual because he sees himself in him...but more importantly, he sees the opportunity of having this individual get justice the way he never did.
"Young men with a mind for revenge need little encouragement, they need guidance."
Oh and Val Kilmer's voice is the closest thing to a live action Batman that sounds like Kevin Conroy.
Even as a kid, when it was exploding and being obsessed over by my classmates, I always thought it should have been darker like the Burton films, given Schumacher did have some gritty titles to his name by this point. Revisiting it recently, it's still fun and Val Kilmer is a great Bruce, but I would love to see the more brooding scenes, and giant bat, restored.
I know a lot of people don't like this but between my glass cup collection from McDonald's and kiss from a rose is pure 90's to me then years later I fished my cup collection from a yard sale score
This is the one we’ve been waiting for heck yeah 👍 🦇 hope Warner Bros makes something happen with this. Imagine a big theatrical release of the Schumacher Cut and a fresh fast food toy line tie-in. They came very close last year…
15:30 Marlon Wayans was first cast as Robin for Batman Returns but then was dropped when Schumacher took over. He still makes money from the contract he signed.
