Junior was giving Rubix wins like nba refs give calls for SGA

:face-red-droopy-eyes:watching Rubix defeat people in a Hip Hop battle without having bounce and groove. Judges should be forced to have a scorecard that gets uploaded publicly so we can shame them.

There should just be community rule where you can't join a comp if your crewmate is judging. Bias is 100% unavoidable.

Honestly, I don't know what to think, but it makes me happy that people know how things are going.

Junior vs Everyone
😭

Drunk off a four loko killed me dawg 😂😂

Tbh, if all you have to do is just isolate in one spot and beatkill to win battles I'd feel confident to enter an event lol

doc made a video of rubix losing lmao

junior is too biased 😂

Metal, you hit all the target points for this video! Well said, sir.

This is proof that the France boost is real.

dance competition ethics 👻👻👻

You spoke volumes bro!

The karaoke type style where dancers just depict sound instead of implementing a single foundational element of hip hop is cheeks. Maybe it would fly in a tutting or animation battle, but aint no way it should constantly be making hip hop finals, especially when dancers like Magnum were actually flowing and grooving WHILE "killing" beats.

It frustrates me so much because everybody knows damn well these dudes can do so much more but actively choose not to. To some extent I even understand the motivation- its crowd pleasing and hype. They wanna create unique rounds that look iconic to them and them alone, but constantly sacrifice the actual dance in order to accomplish that goal. Premeditated, set based or even stiff movement with constant resets like Dykens, Zyko and Diablo can be tight if incorporated seamlessly into other freestyle concepts within the round.

But nah bro, Rubix is just straight up waiting for sounds. He's standing completely still with subtle isolations and lines until the beatkill moment. Concepts don't feed into one another, pockets aren't fleshed out, we already know he doesn't think bounce is necessary, and the list goes on. Sometimes you might get a brief moment of basic steps, misdirection, a reverse, maybe a wild frame with impressive athleticism or flexibility before a reset; but it often doesn't feel like a complete round. Worst part is I actually enjoyed seeing that at events like Hip Hop Eras, but thats mostly because it was just an exhibition. What would even be the motivation to continue battling if this keeps getting reinforced as the standard? How does the outcome matter anymore if we're not strictly judging dance? So many of these dancers are capable of way more than what they get by on and its demoralizing to see.

nothing but truth nukes💣💯. this talk was needed badly

These French dudes really are shameless with their biases huh? 😂

dance has changed, and its not even about the movement. its about the fact that dance used to be something you used to say something but now its something people do to try and find something to say. true dance is rarer than it used to be

I can tell just from the cover of this video, you said exactly what I was thinkin…

We are definitely in Rubix world🔥

7:13 I caught that Metal, cause we clearly see what this Event (and many Events) like to focus and capitalize on. Rubix is great, nobody can take that from him! But its just this "New Era" or Phase of Dancing today that just dont click with me. Cause you can keep your groove while doing what is appealing in today's time! But maybe we just Unc's now and gotta "GET WITH THE TIMES!" 🤷🏿‍♂😂
