At 1:30 you have a fundamental misunderstanding of video color bit depth. 8-bit color on a computer, back in the 90s, more than a decade before the first action cam, yes that was 256 colors (and the reason animated GIFs had color banding because the format is 8-bit). However when talking about bit-depth for video it's per color channel. 8-bit video is 256x256x256 for RGB, or 16 million colors, which on a PC we called 24-bit color. The reason 10-bit video color is "over a billion colors" is because it's 2^10 colors per channel or 1024x1024x1024 for RGB, which is 1.073 billion colors.

Saved this video so I can come back and buy your LUTs lol. I enjoy making outdoor content but I really dislike the color grading aspect of editing. Thank you!

Awesome stuff thanks man

The problem with using the 180 shutter rule with action cameras is that you lose the ability to use the in camera stabilization without introducing weird artifacts into the footage.

Anxiously waiting on my order of the Telesin vnd filter. Hopefully it'll come in next week sometime.

I now understand the settings very well.
Thank you for posting this video.
I'm thinking of buying an Action 6.
Have you ever used the official DJI Osmo Action 6 FOV Boost lens?
Also, there is a non-official wide-angle lens for the Action 6 available on Amazon; have you ever used it?
Please make a video about your impressions after using it.
I'm looking forward to it.
I've subscribed to your channel.😀

Another great video 🙏. So far I'm enjoying shooting with the Action 6. There are still a few things I need to work out to get the most out of it. I also have the Nano so I'm kinda stuck between which one I like using more. Time will tell. 🤷

There are variable twistable filters out there, but the fixed NDs are better and clearer with no vignetting.

Thank you! I have been creating with it for the past week. Some footage came out pretty noisy but these settings seemed to work and what I have been trying.

Sou Brasileiro, mas moro no Paraguay, tenho produzido conteudos com a action 6, seguindo suas dicas. Abs

Have tried it and still having some troubles but it’s getting better slowly as I play around with it

As usual amazing video Teppo! Happy holidays!

Thanks. Great to see Seinäjoki!! Contemplating getting the Action 6. Bought the Action 3 and never used it much. Used to film our original YouTube stuff (focus of architecture) using the original Action 1. The iPhone footage was better and just stuck with doing it with the phone. Now contemplating the Action again. It’s just too easy doing everyone with the phone.

My question is - How do i get around the compression side of things when uploading to youtube? What do i have to do in export? Cause youtube is shattering my quality, please help !!!

@HotfootRabbit 2 months ago

1:32 8 Bit is 16 million colours not 256. You get 256 shades per RGB colour channel

I bought the Action 6 instead of the 5 Pro because of the square sensor, but I'm having trouble editing videos recorded in 1:1. Luma Fusion can't read the file, and CapCut requires compression, which takes a long time...
