Correction time! I wrongly assumed that the T120 was made in the UK, as many of Triumph's more expensive motorcycles are. I'll double check my VIN # but it seems like it's made in Thailand along with some of their more "budget-friendly" bikes. Womp womp :( Sorry y'all!

Ridden a lot of bikes over the last 40 years. And I consider the Bonneville to be one of the best bikes ever. So refined and just a joy to ride. When I'm on one. Its reminds me why I fell in love with bikes!

I've owned a T120 and a Scrambler 1200XC. I now have a Harley Davidson M8 breakout. I'll probably go back to a Triumph T120. That was a great bike, and I do miss it.

I'm pushing 70 this year and I currently own the 2020 Harley-Davidson Roadster and it was the only bike that Harley-Davidson made that appeals to me, why? Because its a Sportster back to its original roots as a sportbike just like the Bonneville. I live in a rural area now and Triumph dealerships are sparse and far far away. I've been riding over 50 years now and for the first 33 years of riding I owned only Triumphs. I had a 76' 750cc Triumph Bonneville for 19 years and still regret selling to thus day for a new 95' Triumph Thunderbird.  I grew up and rode in an era where the cool bikes were Sportsters, Bonnevilles, Nortons and BSAs. My first bike was a 1963 650cc Matchless twin it was a 4 speed, first gear was up, 2nd 3rd and 4th were down. Unfortunately health issues at 70 years is keeping me from riding long trips. Enjoy that Bonneville keep the shiny side up. There's an old rock song by Jethro Tull called to old to rock and roll and to young to die. And both bikes are mentioned in the song. While he mentions Harley-Davidson he doesn't specify Sportster but rest assured he means Sportster because back then the big twin were bikes for old geezers.

I've had a  Sportster 48 for about 2 years now, and recently picked up a Bonneville Bobber. Both bikes stack up really well together, with the only big difference between the 2 is the 48 is more of a raw ride.

My last Harley was a Road King 103. Switched to the T120 and suddenly my motorcycle life changed for the better. Got a Tiger 900 Rally and I think will stick to Triumph for some years. Only bad thing about Triumph, in my case, was the lack of parts...

Sold my CVO ultra Ltd, and went back to riding a T120.  It was a great switch.  God bless HD, and Hoorah for Triumph.

When I was much younger, I really enjoyed my ironhead sportsters 74 and 76 they were the only sportsters I ever owned.
I'm 62 years young now 6'4" 285 lbs and look ridiculous on these little bikes.
30 years ago, I bought a 1978 shiner flh and never looked back, I still have it and enjoy riding it any chance I get.
The bike is unrecognizable as originally built today.
it's a bobber/ chopper kick start only Upsweep straight pipe exhaust LePara barebones solo seat fxr rear fender tombstone taillight 3" BDL open primary 10" apes and many other mods.
Frame, tanks, engine, and transmission are all still stock, and it's been a reliable ride for me.
The secret is maintenance and knowledge about shovelheads.
All services are done religiously.
And not abusing it, enjoy it for what it is.
My other three bikes are also Harleys

The bigger and heavier, the better.
Actually, the most maneuverable of them all is the electra glide, easy to handle in town and on the road once you learn how to ride it correctly.
I'm done with high performance and going fast, and I really enjoy seeing the scenery around me riding in the countryside and the mountains.
Not going 100+ mph and everything around you a blur.
Life is way too short, slow down, and enjoy life.

I have a 865 Triumph Bonneville and a 107 Softail Street Bob. I love both, but if I had to choose just one, I would pick the Harley.

I’ve had my V-rod Muscle for 9 years from new. My best ride, the dream bike   an absolute best……however….I simply got older and my lower back disagrees with me now on that decision. So I had a number of test rides on other bikes. Including Kawasaki Z900RS, Honda CB1000gt and the T120. I’ve got to admit. Honda and T120 give you similar levels of comfort. However, the T120 to me sounds more familiar and it brings me more of that pure joy. Plus the quality of what many of you will describe as a basic bike, speaks volumes to me. I’m now very likely to give up on my younger me dream of a bad ass cruiser.  And trade it in for   simplicity, comfort and just pure relaxing joy🤷‍♂️

I got my T120 early this year and had a Trumpet 650 back in 1966 so not a newbie biker. While my 97 Harley Heritage with 128000 miles still runs great and has the bags and windshield  for the longer rides, the Trumpet just took 40 years off me and makes me look for a fence to jump like Steve McQueen in the Great Escape. Your journey from the V7, Harley, and Bonneville is very interesting to me. I’m a late comer to motorcycling, 7 years. I use my bike for commuting 7 mos a year (Vancouver) and having fun in the twistees (BC)The past 5 years I’ve owned 2017 bmw RT.  Another YouTuber owns an RT as well but recently added a new V7. His reason - The RT is too perfect, no character. I figure I’ve got about 10 more years on a bike. I’m thinking I’ll be sorry if I don’t ride a V7 or Bonneville for part of that time. I’ve been a follower for 3-4 years. Rewatching previous videos has helped through my decision.  Thanks, Keep up the good work.

I don't even consider that flat black piece of trash to be a Sportster. I have a 2002 Sportster 1200C, and absolutely love it. It has bright shiny paint, lots of polished aluminum, and lots of chrome. Pullback bars that are extremely comfortable. It is beautiful, and it sounds and feels absolutely wonderful. It's also carbureted. Not a flat black computer on flat black wheels. Out of 37 motorcycles I have owned over the last 45 years, it is my favorite bike. I did used to own a Triumph, back in the '80s. It was a 1966 Bonneville. Blue and white, also lots of bright aluminum and chrome. Carbureted, air cooled, OHV engine. Beautiful bike, wish I still had it. Except for the tube type tires. I was constantly having flats with those tube type tires, and a flat with tube type tires means a tow truck. And a huge expense. I have had only one flat in my life with tubeless tires, and was able to fix it myself beside the road and be on my way.

I pay $120 a year for insurance on my Sportster. You're getting scammed big time.

I'll make it into a 3 way comparison. 1972 Triumph rider here.....way lighter than either the Sportster or the modern Triumph, 385 pounds. More character than you would ever want. Vibrates too much over 70 mph, no problem below that. Nice mid range torque but only 750cc so no doubt a bit down on the other 2 bikes. Finish quality? Hell no, but it has classic patina.Very nimble, corners surprisingly well. Amazingly spare parts are readily available but they come from England mostly, you will have to wait but they are relatively cheap. Leaks oil occasionally. No electric start but kickstarts easily. Great exhaust note. You will become a competent mechanic if you own one for a few years but it pretty well always gets you home, it's left me stranded once in 30 years now.

I’m on the same river but a different boat. I traded my Harley Fat Boy which I loved for a Triumph Rocket 3. I heard that the Rocket 3 was expensive. Well it really was about the same as the Fat Boy. The big difference though is that when you roll the Harley out of the show room it’s just the beginning of your financial journey. To get the Harley to run, sound and look the way you want it you are talking thousands more. My Rocket 3 came off the showroom floor ripping with cruise control, heated grips, endless torque and a superior ride. I love it. My Rocket is bone stock. My only expense was saddlebags so in the end the Rocket turns out to be a better bargain
