I've been building for 66 years. I've had two airbrushed, both patches. Never had a problem.

I used to live in jesup Georgia,be thankful you're not in Michigan where i am now I couldn't breathe through my nose for over a month!  Keep up the modeling man. Im back into building them now since watching your videos. Thanks.

“Time to make a mistake”😂. The story of my model building career!

MAN ALIVE!!! Well, that’s exactly why I always spray the hood first just like you did. Easier to fix than the body. 😮

Nice work with the paint.  Thanks for sharing.

Good video Matthew. Love the understated color choice for a car that was anything but. Enjoying watching the Boss come together. Good luck sorting out your air brushes.

Nice color 👍👍👍👍👍

I tryed them spray s gun had no luck so went back to using the cans of paint ya I always paint the hood s first or test on a another model part

Shit happens, all you can do is keep going. I painted a foxbody mustang coupe for the group build on r/modelcars 3 different times before I was happy with the final result

Hey Matt. I’m sorry about the issues man. I’m a slow learner, hardheaded is usually the term used. Papa from Papa’s Model Workshop said to always test on plastic spoons first. I didn’t listen until I had my first disaster, but now I have one in hand every time I head to the paint shed now. Like he said. They’re cheap, if you screw up, throw it away, and if you have an airbrush issue, you know it before you have to take em for a soak in the purple jacuzzi. My life is that I have to do it the wrong way before I can do it the right way. My son has the same disease. We call it the Kimbrough Curse.

Check your air compressor it  could be spitting oil

Painting can cause issues when you have issues when your airbrush is dirty; especially, when our airbrush is not clean.  I always completely clean my airbrush each time I use mine.  Thanks for sharing.

Hey Mathew, your mistakes are my gain! I want to learn some basic techniques of air brushinga model cars. Still a rattle can guy at the moment This video actually helped me understand lots of stuff from set ups of the airbrush regarding the paint, cleaning the actual model and even some of the pitfalls that I would need to be aware of. Sorry about all the air brushes you had to try, but it definitely showed me tons of cool  stuff  I would need to know to paint properly. Great patience! Nice video, great color choice and thanks for some very useful tips!

I'm a 43 year old getting back into the hobby and i hate spraying and polishing the bodies, 50% of the time i do something       wrong to ruin it.
Thats why im here.

You could put a star pattern on the blue colour and make it a really interesting paint job and get some real accolades for it.

What an adventure! I like the color. Life and times of a painter. Try again.

Great video, Matt.  I'm sorry you had so much trouble painting the Mustang. I'm thinking machine oil in the new gun or possible moisture in your line.  Enjoy your weekend.

It can be frustrating at times this hobby, but we just Drive On. I Just built that same kit for my son and used Createx Midnight Blue Metallic and did wheels/Chrome in Gold Leaf. Nice Combo. Any Hoot, Thanks for the ride along Matt

Leave the hood the way it is! Make it a mural on a show car! "Starry Nite". 😂

You need a moisture trap at the end of your gun. You can get them at Harbor freight 8 bux
