It Was All Going Great… Until It Wasn’t

We headed out on a mobile firewood processing job with the Eastonmade EVO and ended up producing 34 cords of firewood in just 2 days on 1 job and 8 cords of wood on another job! In this video we travel out of town, set up the processor, run nonstop for three full days, and tackle one of the biggest firewood piles we’ve worked on yet.

The EVO absolutely crushed this job, and the Kubota track loader kept the wood flowing the entire time. But just when everything was going smoothly… the trip home took a turn we weren’t expecting.

If you enjoy firewood processing, logging equipment, heavy machinery, tractors, skid steers, and real-world work videos, you’ll definitely enjoy this one.

100 per hour is way low if you factor equipment, labor, fuel, maintenance, consumables and then put overhead on top of that for taxes, insurance etc.

Replacing the oem tires with good 14 plys is the first thing I do when I get a new trailer. I’ve blown so many ten plys but have never had a problem with a 14 ply in 40k plus trailer miles.

Take a battery powered impact wrench as well along with the appropriate socket. Every minute you are sitting and working on the side of a highway is increased risk, especially on the driver side.

Find a plastic pallet and make a “travel kit that you can quickly load and unload in the bed of your truck or trailer. It works great I love mine.

Thank you for giving the economics at the end of the video. Numbers are always appreciated,

That's a lot of wood. I think $100 is on the low side. You must consider the wear on the machine and truck.
Great vid Adam.

Any time I am going any distance from home with a trailer I take 2 spare tires for the trailer and one extra for the truck. That way I don’t have to immediately start looking for a new tire if I have a blow out. Also look into load range G tires for your trailer. They are way better.

Pre trip inspections and PMCS saves getting stuck on side of road both truck and towed equipment.

I think thats a great deal for him! So basically you made him 10k in two days and he didnt have to do anything but supply the logs.

Tires that aren’t turned rot, get Doug to make you some stands with the same lug pattern as you hub and remove the wheels whilst it’s stood in your wood yard.

Ad a 1/2” cordless impact with an automotive lug nut socket set to your list too.

Something to remember about the tires on a processor, the fine mist of bar oil gets on the tires and rots them . I never moved mine out of the wood yard but had two flat tires. The rubber was rotting away. Maybe wheels covers?
