The people were laughing about the polygamy and that the wives being easy to win them but harder to keep them happy or something,  well it sounds like it's blaming the women for the practice but it seems to me that the women didn't have a choice. Her husband would go marry someone no matter how they felt and it's disregarding the pain of women who have to share their husband with one other woman, or 10 other women or however many the husband wants. I don't find that funny and I don't blame the women for the discontent in the household. I blame  the men for disobeying God's law in creating the misery in their families and jealousy between children.
