The dialogue in the game makes more sense if you imagine everything you hear is our shirtless himbo lost puppy Keith retelling the story he went through as he understands it

Well, I have to say, the idea to name the game Countdown Vampires is a stroke of genius. "Game mechanic + Antagonist". Imagine if Resident Evil were called "Lockpick Zombies", or Metal Gear Solid were called "Cigarette Terrorists". Much better, right?

I love that they made the MC look like this muscly, badass action hero and he sounds like fucking Dean Venture.

I feel like my only shot at having fun in a club would be if someone brought their cat.

This is going to be the weirdest thing in the world, but there's this song called "Hello Daddy" by Nervous Testpilot, and it has a bunch of goofy voice clips in it, like "pork chop sandwiches!" It starts with the line "Before you die, I'm going to tell you a little secret just to make it so you really don't want to die," and it just blew my mind to find out that clip came from this game.

"Keith we got matching tattoos, but mine's cooler."
Clearly the best line in the game, because it totally was in there.

That intense scowl followed by “I’m a homicide detective” delivered with the nicest, friendliest voice I’ve heard in a video game killed me 😂 0:53

When he says "we're out of gaaaas" all I can think of is the bit from the Pinocchio trailer where he goes "father, when can I leave to be on my ownnnn"

So a dude sees a lady at a nightclub turn into a vampire, try to kill him, gets shot and falls into some white fluid and becomes normal and his first thought is to become shirtless.

I like how Keith is supposed to be a badass, but to voice him they just pulled some random guy at the office who was free on his lunch hour.

The thing that strikes me about this game is how the man in black is literally ALWAYS holding you at gunpoint to yap. Like he somehow knows you'll just leave before he can finish his speech if he doesn't pull out the shotty.

"What? We're out of gas!"

He says, looking at an oil meter 🤣

Maybe that one frame where Misato has her leg in the air is just unconscious behaviour caused by the moon.

I wasn't watching the subtitles when they talked about that Misato woman at 11:50 and I sure didn't hear "horror".

Why yes I would like to watch a 45 minute video about a 30 year old game I've never heard of, thank you. Also, re: the voice acting, a friend of mine has done VA work for games and apparently back then the English speaking VAs were basically forced to read the text EXACTLY AS WRITTEN and make it sound the way a director who doesn't speak English thinks it could sound. As an example, if the script said "oh no, it's a g-g-ghost!" then the VA would not be allowed to make a realistic stammer but rather have to do three "g" sounds exactly and make no other tonal changes to the phrase. It was insane from what he told me and it's a huge reason all those old games sound like the VAs had never acted before.

This game’s voice acting makes RE1 look like they are preforming Shakespeare. I can’t wait for Barry’s rendition of Hamlet.

The voice acting for Misato specifically reminds me of the voice acting for almost all the female characters in Michigan Report from Hell and that made me think, I would go feral if EarlyBird made a Michigan Report from Hell video LOL

1:51 Just throwing this out there, because people like to call out Wilhelm Screams: this (if I'm not misraken) is the woman's Jaws scream.

15:30 I'm here for my gold star
