It look a few weeks... but it's finally here - The story of our iRacing 24H Le Mans!

I do apologise, this video was planned to be up a week earlier but I fell ill (love flu season), which you may slightly hear in the voice-over!

What a crazy race we had, although the result may not have been what we hoped for, this was a significant improvement over the Majors 24.

Hundreds of hours went into this project and I am very proud of it.

Dan here: When I lost the car I had already been up close to 24 hours with maybe a couple 20 minute naps in between. Put it in perspective Aaron mentions that it was around 5 am my local time. I normally wake up at 6 am local time everyday even on weekends. I can't break the rhythm lol. That said I simply just rolled on to the gas too fast on cold tires. It was silly mistake brought on by fatigue. I've notice one tick I have when I start getting fatigued and under stress is that i start talking alot more then I normally should. It's really interesting discovering what your stress reactions are. There is definitely something that happens in these races where your that tired. I've experienced both sides of it the feeling of the lucidness that you've become one with the car that I believe it was Andre Lotterer described, and the other end where you can't do anything right. I told myself on the run down to the chicane be careful on exit. My brain said one thing, my foot said another. Once I felt the car start going around I felt gutted because there was no stopping it. I brought the car back, got up, laid on the couch next to my rig and stared at the ceiling for about forty minutes. So much effort goes into prepping for these races, to have something like that happen is frustrating. I managed to play a season of College Football at the D2 level. Sim racing for me is a way to still compete and be competitive, and allow me to scratch that competitive itch that softball, or bowling can't. So for me to have a silly mistake bothered me on a personal level because I felt as a competitor I let my teammates down. I know it sounds silly but hey then I remember there are guys playing beer league hockey like there are NHL scouts watching taking that way more seriously then I do sim racing. Anyways cheers.
