Let's not forget Gary Thain . One of the most original bass players of his era.

RIP David Byron, Lee Kerslake, Ken Hensley, Gary Thain

What a time in rock and roll.  Simultaneously we have Heep, Deep Purple, Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, Yes, ELP, Pink Floyd, Jethro Tull, King Crimson, The Moody Blues, Genesis, Strawbs, and Procol Harum along with more niche prog rock bands like Hawkwind, Kraftwerk, Rare Bird, Caravan, Focus, Gentle Giant, Nectar, Triumvirat, Can, PFM, Van der Graaf Generator, Curved Air, etc. In all of this greatness Uriah Heep did stand out. Not at all the poor man's Deep Purple, they took the organ based rock to darker corners, with not scorching, but extremely tasty guitar leads and rhythms. They cemented their own sound that often included glorious high vocal leads and harmonies. I find a healthy portion of their catalog not so dated as detractors would have us believe, but still a sound I find worth celebrating today. They certainly deserve to be in the R&RHOF.

None could ever replace the mighty David Byron. R.I.P.

Inarguable that they are in the top 10 underrated rock bands of all time, and quite possibly crack the top 5.

So many things stayed out of this documentary. For instance Woman of the Night… how come nobody mentioned that masterpiece. It’s pure Heep!

URIAH HEEP  1 of my TOP 4  from the moment they started , still playing their  music  every week , Demons and Wizards  top album , great songs

IMHO, Return to Fantasy is such an underrated album! I love that album!

I only saw them once but as a 14 year old boy they were amazing and David was the ultimate front man and vocalist 💪 still one of my favorite concerts !!!

The most chronicled and precise, heartfelt documentary I've watched about Heep. After being transformed by them by Look at Yourself and Demons and Wizards when they were initially released in '72 when I graduated high school, and seeing them live in July '72 in Cleveland, OH, I lost track of them due to life intervening and am actually re-acquainting myself with them starting when I lost track of them in '72. I wish I would've kept track of them but thanks to your documentary and so much other info on YouTube, it's like I'm reliving it all.

Uriah Heep is one of my favourite hard rock and roll bands.

One of the few best bands ever!

Uriah Heep deserve a full history documentary

One of my all-time favorite bands, I listened to them as a young 13-year-old (I'm from Medellín, Colombia). Today, at 66, I still listen to them in all their different facets. This excellent documentary sheds a great light on little-known aspects of this great band. Congratulations, and I look forward to Part II.

The original album cover for Look At Yourself is one of the best of all time. I still have one.

FINALLY!!!!!! I FOUND A MUSIC CHANNEL WITH PROGRESSIVE ROCK HARDROCK !!!!!!!!UNBELIEVABLE. EVERYONE IS SO CONCERNED WITH TOP 40. AND I LOVE THE OLD UNDERGROUND PROGRESSIVE MUSIC!!!!!!

John Lawton was a Ronnie James Dio type singer asked to sing Leif Garrett type songs, and John Sloman was a Leif Garrett type singer asked to sing Ronnie James Dio type songs.

Easy living is a classic! I think it would have been a hit in the US if it was more guitar focused, just a bit less busy on the keys, like bring them in and out and let the riff be tighter. Probably would have fit the US trends more at the time.

I saw them in 1970 at the original Kendal Rock festival on the Show Ground which is now Morrisons. They were absolutely fucking fantastic, and Byron was at his peak. He was even climbing the scaffolding towers long before Bono. All the band members played exceptionally well, and as for Box being a second rate Page, Blackmore, Iommi etc, give me a break please. And you know what. Despite the line-up changes over the decades, they can still knock it out. Good luck to them all.

Once a Heep'ster always a Heep'ster.
I was captured down the rabbit hole, when buying the "Look At Yourself" and "Demons and Wizards" albums, early 70's.
Imho the Byron era was UH's hey days and my all time favourite "July Morning", an anthem which really should've been up there, with i.e. DP's "Child in Time" and Zep's "Stairway To Heaven".
Rest in peace all you Great Magicians, we'll meet again on the other side.
Heep'ster Forever ☮️❤️🎸
