Serena, a lot of your problems could be solved by not playing Undead.

1. Wood elf had imperial units - you can recruit units from an ally.
2. Karl got stuck in gate - Vanilla bug. Not mod related.
3. Changling - Vanilla. Changling is a tzeentch legendary lord. It is rare to see him bc he is "invisible". He should not be in a Norscan faction, bug bc of mods.
4. Sylvania is a part of empire. In Lore, generally (beside incursions) Vampires work in the shadows of Sylvania or some other cities. For game purpose Sylvania and Vlady Daddy is playable and openly acts.
5. Elspeth, in short, works a lot with Cults of Mor. Mor, in short, is a god of the dead in the Empire(yes, Empire has more gods than Sigmar), he hates undead and necromancy. And yes, she has a very cool magical gun units. Very fun faction to play.

8:20 You may think Vlad not having a mount is a bad thing, but Vlad doesn't need a mount, any mount would just be holding him back.  I say this both jokingly and also not because one of the most overpowered strats in all of the game is to have the near invincible Vlad run head first into the enemy formations, have said enemies cluster around him, then have a Vampire on a pegasus drop vortex spells on that massive cluster of enemies.  Being on a mount makes you a bigger target, that's why it's not always good to be on a mount, you want Vlad to have a small hitbox so the enemy has a harder time shooting him with missiles while he is trapped in the center of a 2000 troop orgy.  No joke, I will have an army comprised strictly on Vlad, Isabella, and like 3 Vampire heroes and nothing else wipe out multiple armies of 5000+ troops using this tactic.

If you want wizard college, the faction, play Balthazar turn lead into gold to scam a taxi driver (yes this is something he actually did) Gelt. Also he uses one of my personal favorite domains of magic.
