Murder house seems like a straight to dvd movie that ends up having a massive cult following

I like how mean they make the characters in these types of horror games. It reminds me of the older Nintendo games, like Animal Crossing.

The first time I played this game I managed to avoid the Easter Ripper by happenstance for the entirety of the game.i ended up thinking that he inly actually showed up during the set piece scripted moments. Made it so much scarier when I found out that he was constantly roaming around the house following Dana's death and I just happened to avoid him.

I'm going to be honest, a lot of games feel like just shock value because we've become insensitized to them over the pass of years, the "jumpscare fest" trend at it's core started just as something that encourages you to try and survive while keeping you in your toes with the ambience and uneasiness of the environment, but as more games did something similar it became more widespread and common and therefore lost a lot of it's effectiveness, the original FNAF games can be deemed "jumpscare fests" but at their core the jumpscares weren't the scary part, just a punishment for not surviving and probably letting the uneasiness of the game getting to you. These games just manage to make you feel hopeless in a way not much other games have tried before (or at least succeeded, because these puppet combo games could fall under the tag of "granny-like", but these succeed more often than granny at making you feel vulnerable). Horror and terror in games and media alike are losing some of their value as we become more used to them and more demanding, I really feel the old games deserve a bit more respect for cementing some really solid bases for gaming horror, they just have aged quite a lot and looking back at them can seem a bit like they were never scary when in reality you just lost the fear over time.

I've seen some pics of the beta version of Murder House and the difference between the prototype and final models is crazy. The devs put their souls into this game, definitely the best Puppet Combo project imo

If i recall the whole "it was a movie this whole time" thing was added in after a bunch of people said the ending of the game didn't make any sense so the creator was like "ok how about it was all just a movie then?"
