Look at Chris now. He have a great job which many people envied of. He credited it from living in isolation and how he was brought up. He’s now travelling the world, and even the daughter is on some conservation job. Clearly mom and dad has done a good job.

Grew up pretty remotely. Best childhood ever.

Wow I hate the way the media slant things and trry to make it sound like what they are doing is wrong or bad. I envy the long family. Good on them!

2025 and people are returning to this lifestyle in droves... turns out the world isn't in "pretty good shape" and the oil scarsity scam is coming light and alternative technologies have always been here... the knowledge was just hidden.

I was given Robert Longs book by my late cousin quite a few years back. My cousin a well known fiordland fixed wing pilot, knew Robert and occasionally flew into the airstrip and this was mentioned in his book.  I take my hat off to Robert and his family. They deserve  respect for the life they chose.
