I’m glad you added kalk to a beginner series. It’s very easy to dose, easy to manage, and long term very stable. I added all for reef to the mix just to try it and I like using both.

Very informative video! Thank you for taking the time to do an in depth explanation. It’s been about 10 years since I did saltwater tanks. These videos are great Matthew, I previously could not get passed having to deal with RO water (i am a freshwater planted CO2 guy). But this time having to test each week killed my transition appetite, maybe another time 😂

It's always great to see you pop up on my "latest" videos feed. I keep going back to the Hello Reef series, since that's what I have at home, but I might be outgrowing it after almost a full year. I saw in an older video (3+ years old) that you set up an Innovative Marine Nuvo Fusion Pro 2 40-gallon. I'd love to upgrade to that, as that is the max my tiny condo can fit. My question is: you may not be allowed to answer, but is there a larger Hello Reef clownfish tank coming?

I always drip acclimate when I get fish from a local fish store. I only temp acclimate if I get fish shipped to me and then a simple plop n drop. The ammonia in the shipped bag closed is less toxic to fish due to low ph. The ammonia rises significantly once air hits so plop and drop is the way to go for shipped fish.

I have some algae and had nitrates 0 for about one month. I have increased feeding, but nitrates still show 0. What would be the best path of action?

If my house had a stable temp all year. I woukd do it this way. But with high highs and low lows and a partner thats love to sweat and freeze, my reef tanks are always doing more to stable xD in any case. My evap rate is too unstable for this. I need to get the fish room on its own heating/cooling system for a perfect 77F year round xD
