Public transport infrastructure is built to move people. But what if public transport could give more space back to nature? 🌱🚋

In Brussels, Belgium, Tram 10 was developed with a focus on reusing materials, managing rainwater and creating space for fauna and flora.

▶️ In this video, we explore how materials from previous construction projects can find a new life in public transport infrastructure, from reclaimed terracotta pavers and blue limestone kerbs to recycled steel and rubber. We also look at how permeable surfaces and swales can help rainwater naturally infiltrate the soil.

It’s one example of how cities can rethink the way they build and maintain public transport infrastructure, using resources more efficiently while creating more liveable urban spaces.
