When Rakim starts rapping, it's like 100% of your attention goes to him

"Timeless, so age don't count in the booth. When your flow stay submerged in the fountain of youth." - Rakim. This was amazing!

Rap is literally being saved by the 70s, 80s, and 90s generation of Rap. Don’t argue with it. It’s 6,000,000% true.

12:11 "Yo Ra, you ready?" while he about to light up the mic to Dre's 'Still Dre' gives me goosebumps everytime

Been listening to Rakim bless the mic since I was 16 years old! I’m 51 now and up to today no one is quite like the God emcee! He came on the scene and changed how the art form was done. He has influenced more people than anyone I believe. He will always be #1 to me!

Rakims flow is like a velvety fine wine

Rakim is the Thelonious Monk of Hip-Hop, equal parts instrument and intelligence, blending and bending words like poetic alchemy. Rakim's The Watcher on this is flawless! In God MC we trust.

Only the great Rakim can rhyme on classics and make them sound better than the originals

@PunchPerfectPlayer 5 years ago

you can divide hip hop before Rakim and after Rakim, thats how influential he was

I'm 19 years old and I'm from Poland. I feel like I'm the only one of my peers who knows Rakim. It's sad that not everyone remembers Him, because without the God MC there would be no Biggie, JAY-Z or Eminem.

The legend Rakim. The soundtrack to my teenage years in the 80s.

The God MC himself. It was an honor to speak to Rakim. Humble yet powerful dude. Salute

I go way back to his start of his career. I met him once backstage on his European tour a few years ago and he signed my Don't sweat the technique Album and gave me his Hat and signed my poster. Put his arm around me for a photo as well.
GOD MC I was so so privileged and honoured to meet.
Love ya RA
