My life was forever changed on the day I first heard the YES Album.

Many years ago, my nephew asked me what "stereo" was. I put this song on and gave him headphones and said Listen." His eyes opened wide and he smiled, like you just did.

This is one of those songs that lead me to advocate for new listeners to start with the studio version. The sound engineer(s) were a part of the band in how the song was produced and sounded. Live recordings, especially from the 60s and 70s, lack that attention.

Keep enjoying the Yes journey!

Just "Close your eyes and listen." As most of us Yes fans well know, Yes music requires the listener to immerse themselves, within the privacy of one's own head, and with repeated listenings; therefore to allow the music to carry you on a journey within one's own soul. With Peace and Love to all! (Michael)

You haven't really experienced the real Yes until you listen to their epics. The first of these should be Close To The Edge.

When the panning makes you smile, happy is your face; When you backtrack, listen closer, Yours is No....Yours is No Discrace.

A real game changer in the history of rock Music this album.

Steve Howe and Chris Squire really shine on this one.

This is about returning Vietnam vets that were facing recrimination for what they were forced to endure The original song has just the same sort of separation.

Guitarist Steve Howe is PHENOMENAL!

From Wikki: "Anderson has stated that the theme of the song was recognition that the kids fighting the war had no choice but to fight and that the war was not their fault. Author Bill Martin describes "Yours Is No Disgrace" as "a remarkable and subtle song about the Vietnam War." The lyrics make their point by contrasting the suffering of the soldiers in Vietnam with people partying in Las Vegas."

Ohh how I love Chris's bass playing.

4:43 "It feels like eating candy, but for my ears"
Love it.

Generally speaking, the best you can usually hope for with Jon Anderson's lyrics is that after repeated listenings, they will come to mean something to you. Often times, he uses word for how they sound rather than what they mean, and he doesn't even know what they mean when he writes and then records them. But after singing them enough, they do come to mean something to him, and it's probably something different than what they mean to us. And that is exactly how he wants us to experience it.

YES. Best...band...ever. Been listening to them for over 50 years and there is nobody that compares. Thanks for the reaction!!!

Yes, the band, is pure magic, heaven and beauty for our souls.
☮️❤️😎🎶🐾. Eddy Offord is the genius engineer on early Yes albums.

Eddie Offord did a fabulous job of mixing music back in the day.

I love how Yes are dreamy, otherworldly and transcendent.. It takes you a voyage/ trip sonically and imaginatively... ♾️🙏

I'm old (and lucky) enough to have been there to see it performed many times. In a nutshell, they are essentially not blaming the soldiers who have been forced into fighting stupid wars.

Yes!!! The greatest of them all.

Your Yes journey has just begun. Studio versions are the best from early Yes
