About Dr. Aaron Devor:

Dr. Aaron Devor, PhD, FSSSS, FSTLHE, is an internationally recognized leader in Transgender Studies who has studied and taught transgender topics since the early 1980s. He established and held the world’s first Chair in Transgender Studies, founded the world’s largest Transgender Archives, and initiated the international Moving Trans History Forward conferences.

Dr. Devor has published extensively on transgender topics, including four authored books and one edited volume. He has received numerous awards for his research, teaching, and advocacy, delivered more than 40 keynote and plenary addresses worldwide, and is frequently sought out by the media for his expertise. He is a national award-winning teacher, former Dean of Graduate Studies, and Professor of Sociology at the University of Victoria.
