I bought a CRF a couple of months ago after doing a Dave Thorpe Honda course down in Exmoor. Highly recommend it. 👍

Great video, I got my CRF last December, best thing I ever did. First thing is bin them stock tyres off and get Michelin trackers, game changer. Drop PSI to 12 so much difference

its not abs it is traction control. it stops sending power to the wheel when it feels it slipping. abs stands for antilock braking system. that pulses the brakes rapidly when you start to skid while braking. two completely different things.

Riding off road is so different to the road/track ive crashed so many times thinking i was good only to pick myself up and know im not , but its awesome fun the trial/enduro/motocross lads are the really skillful riders .

I would recommend taking some off road courses, back in the day we used to cut our off road teeth on 20 quid Honda 90's in the local quarry north of York 😂. If I was to go back off road I would some courses

Great watch, it's easier standing up. Not bad for first time on them lanes. ABS off. Get yourself on one of the training schools in Wales all the manufacturers offer these. Then have ago at a trails bike school. Remember Kickstart? 👍

I got my 300L on Tuesday. I've only been out on it once. Already know that I'm going to have many happy years riding it. Great video. Keep them coming. The red ones are faster... 😂

Bought a CRF a year or two back . Smallest cubic capacity bike owned in 45 years. Great bike, light and very good on the fuel. But best mod is ECU remap. Much more perky and even better mpg . Used Hilltop MC,s at Hinkley for remaps for my Tenere t7 and old GSA 1200 and CRF 300 rally. All money well spent for huge grins riding home. Remap pulls my sixteen stone at 80 mph on motorway, sorry meant 70mph and tootling round the country lanes averages 100+ mpg.

Another enjoyable video. They have closed all the lanes on the Isle of Wight until March so i a jealous watching this. 18psi front and rear will help and stand up as your weight will be middle of the bike. Lean forward uphill and hips back downhill. Love it!

I think you both did well. Well worth the post.

@craiggalway1768 10 months ago

ABS, does nothing to stop you slipping and sliding it just means you can lock the back wheel
You need to get better tires as suggested Michelin trackers are great
You need to stand up all the time with your head forward and your arms braced
You need to cover the clutch and front brake with one finger at all times
Get some training and you’ll be sorted

Great fun, but as I found out, wet grass = an early bath. The ruts are the way to go but balance is the key. I used to go on those lanes a few years ago but the 4x4 boys cut them up pretty badly causing seriously deep ruts that grounded the pegs if you were in them. Looks like there has been repair work done on them.

There are loads of legal green lanes around there some harder than others. You will want the abs off as you gain more confidence and try a wet muddy hill otherwise you’ll grind to a halt! I put bar rise blocks on mine and adjusted the break levers and rear pedal for better control when I’m stood up otherwise I was leaning too far over etc. although is a bit of a compromise when on the road.

Oh and if you do carry on you will, at some stage, come off so be prepared to accept your nice new plastics may well get scratched and you might get bruised. You will also realise the Crf is not as light as you thought when picking it up for the third or fourth time on a ride - don’t ask me how I know!

Your having so much fun. Thats whats it all about.. i do a all inclusive motocross day. That's bike petrol and gear.. makes you a better off road rider.. 👍🏻 just keep going you'll get better.. 👌🏼

@philanderson7611 10 months ago

You are very fortunate in England being able to green lane on the OS lanes. This looks great fun. In Scotland we can’t do this “legally”. As some others have commented try a training day somewhere and get some content.

Nice 👌🏻 i took the strap off my seat and put a cheap 3D mesh seat cover on, it helped loads with comfort. Ive got the large acerbis tank with full black widow exhaust and i get 220 miles to a tank, highly recommend it. All the best anyway mate. 👍🏻

Off roading is sometimes the best cheap fun , I am going to have a ride down to your part of country in summer as I want to visit ellerker village as my ancestors are buried in one of the churches there .
