The reason you can't make an "unpickable lock" is because you still have to be able to open it. And whatever way you use to open it will inevitably become an access point for someone to pick it. Now obviously, there are locks that are unnecessarily easy to pick, and those should be called out. But you'll never have a 100% secure lock. This is what you have to remember about locks: They exist to keep out the random passerby. Any dedicated professional can always get in.

"who are you? how did you get in here?"

I'm a locksmith... and I'm a locksmith.

“You are using a master lock, it can be opened with a master lock” — McNally

I am a complete noob to lockpicking, but my family had gotten me a lockpicking kit.  One day, a friend of mine contacted me because his uncle had locked himself out of his house with the key inside, and said "I know you watch the lockpicking lawyer, do you think you can pick his lock?"  So I showed up with my kit, and I started with the wrong tool.  2 minutes later, I decided to change to a rake.  It took me about 2 seconds to get the lock open with the rake, can confirm 2 second picking is possible.

The damn heart shaped diary lock took more time to open than the AR 15 gun lock I can’t.

The best advice I ever learned was when I was 10 years old and my grandpa told me this; "Locks only keep the honest people out."  He then proceeded to take bolt cutters and cut the lock off our fuel tank that he lost the keys to.

You absolutely need to watch all of his april fools videos.

Berry, please be honest: are you watching these videos to study for an attempted escape from your aquarium enclosure?

Over an hour of lockpicking!? Hell yeah!

"Teach a man to fish. He might be hungry because it could walk away." One of the single most profound sentences I've ever heard. I didn't think English was capable of such beauty. I'll put it on my grave

Master locks are literally the "I guess it's better than nothing at all" of locks, they're barely considered deterrents

"This is a Master lock, it can be open with another Master lock" * Smacks them together * -McNally

About the whole "you need to buy the strongest lock" thing. There's a reason for the saying "locks are there to keep our honest men". If someone truly wants to get in, no lock is 100% foolproof

Lockpickinglawyer: "Now the plan is..."
McNally: "LEEROYYYYYY!!!"

And somehow they both work together 😂

There are no locks that are 100% safe... it's just how long the thief will have to work on it to unlock.
