Hey, everyone! I was a bit sick during the voiceover recording for the video, so my apologies for the change in my voice from time to time! I had to keep re-recording specific lines 😂

i mean Sentinel is basically Cyberbots made into a character, it even uses the same sound when airdashing

RIP to my best friend David Kressel. He died 5 years ago from a heart attack induced by an epileptic seizure. He was my senpai showed me many cool things, taught me how to play fighting games. I miss him everyday and I'm grateful for MVC. Many of summers playing these games with DK. Great video and thank you everyone for keeping this franchise alive!!! Love you DK💙🌹

as much as the dhc glitch is attributed to marvel 3 and the chris hu explanation, the dhc glitch actually originates from mvc2, where it worked the exact same way. Giving us America's favorite DHC: Storm lightning storm -> Sent drones

13:51 "your honor, I was playing MVC 2 at the time of the murder."

The idea that Chun's face was always work in progress and was going to be what we got in the end is giving capcom WAYYYYY too much credit and benefit of the doubt

IDK why my takeaway from Dhalsim's dream ending was "Oh my God, we get to see his wife and kids for once in a million years!"
And not like it needs to be said, but I wanna do it. In regards to Norimaro, the Kancho is a very established gag. First time I ever saw it was Kakashi doing it in Naruto

The way to choose Akuma in COTA and Charlie in MSHvsSF are specific for the collection. In the arcades you had to perform specific inputs in the character select screen in able to pick them. Annita was exclusive to the japanese arcade version of MSH and in order to unlock her you had to put the switches of the board in a specific way and then special inputs in character select screen

YO THANK YOU SO MUCH BRO FOR THE MENTON! I LOVE YOUR VIDEOS AND YOUR A BIG INSPIRATION

My favorite bit of trivia is that the Naomi version of MvC2 uses different (and detuned!) midi instruments from the console versions, particularly in the horns section, and also uses different samples for some percussion, most notably the snare drum

After seeing the bit of this iceberg about the moves he had in COTA and nowhere else, I'm hoping that if they bring back Sentinel for whenever the next new MvC game is made, that they bring back that spinning dive-splash as a command normal or special of some sort.

I never saw that handsome Blanka face from the early SF4 footage, how haunting.

@10:42 this counter move was actually given to shin akuma in cvs 2. Check out his move list

They should do a marvel vs DC game one day

15:20
Vanilla SFII was on the CPS-1 board.

Super Street Fighter II & Super Turbo were on the CPS-2 (same as CotA and Street Fighter Alpha)

the stage transitions are still definitely an impressive feat tho!

Mephisto indeed lives on in spirit in MvSF as a secret alternate version of Blackheart.  He's no Red Venom though as the only difference is that his attacks do fire damage and literally nothing else.

Akuma's COTA counter move would actually appear again in CvS2 as a move for Shin Akuma, and in that game instead of a dragon punch he counters with a mini Misogi (the vertical dive chop super).

32:36 Capcom could have validated the contents of your team on round start and instantly given you a match loss if it had a character that was out of range.

Mvc2 is the best game ever, everything is so perfect

32:36 I can't imagine it being very hard to patch this out at all. What I would have done is if ID 51 is attempted to load in an online match, just load in say Ryu instead. I figure they never patched it just because Capcom stopped supporting the game only a few months after UMVC3's original release.

most of the unlock methods in the games (Akuma in COTA, Anita in MSH, and the MVC1 characters) shown are not the original ones, just what's in the collection. There are really long cheat codes for playing as these characters, it's crazy

like, for Anita, only in the Japanese version you need the game to be set to free play, then you need to hold down the left side coin switch. Then, while holding start, input MP LP left LK MK
and in at least the playstation version, there's a different one. Simply up, right, down, left, up, right, down, left, then hold LP, let go, hold MP, let go, press HP
This info was gotten from rage quitter 87's mvc "shrine" on his flying omelette page

25:35 Are you telling Me that Donovan's Killshred Plant move inspired Virgil's round trip in mvc? Because Anita is just a really small Donovan with her specials being very small ranged versions of them, kinda like Roll to Donovan's Mega Man
