I got banned from multiple Discord servers just for saying "I like Palworld", So this sort of thing doesn't surprise me in the slightest.

Been a Digimon fan since the 90s.
I'm in a digimon discord.
Can confirm we're pretty chill. Pokemon gets brought up, we will talk about it pretty positively.

This Pokémon vs Digimon thing is definitely something I never thought I would see in 2025.

I’ve personally loved digimon more than Pokemon. Digimon didn’t have much games but the anime was way better than Pokemon in my opinion. Pokemon just had better games. Played a ton of digimon world ds and dusk and dawn and cyber sleuth and hackers memory. Still love digimon more than Pokemon but I still love both

Me being a Persona/SMT fan watching every other monster tamer be called a knockoff of Pokemon is entertaining

Been a fan of both Pokemon and Digimon since I was a kid. I'm glad Digimon is having a comeback within the past five years. Digimon World 3 will be one of those memorable love/hate games I grew up playing and still haven't beaten. 😂

Hes not wrong lol...people are coping. It's okay to admit the truth lol it doesn't make you any less of a pokemon fan...wanting the series to get better is a sign you care about it.😂

Digimon was always catered more to teenagers while Pokemon was more catered to kids.

Ngl man, this digimon game seems more comparable to the smt/persona games than pokemon.

It's supremely annoying that people gotta be put into monoliths for no reason. You can like both digimon and pokemon. You can critique pokemon without being a hater. Like damn I can't like both? Not everything is black and white. I blame politics loll. Like what you like yall.

German Digituber here, i have to agree with you. Its fine to compare different Franchises, its also fine if you enjoy both or prefer one over the other. We Digimon Fans welcome anyone who wants to try out Digimon for the first time, i will not shit on Pokemon for it, grew up with both, prefered Digimon though. i'd love Pokemon to improve in the future, to see this competition with Digimon as an inspiration to do better for their fans. But sadly i dont think this will happen. We Digimon Fans are just glad that Digimon is finally getting some more recognition!

Doraemon is the OG "mon" franchise.

Lol someone saying "Imma dip of it's digimon", go ahead the x button is selectable buddy we don't need you.

Lucario just looks like Anubismon that already existed before Lucario came out.

As a kid digimon show and world 1 were far superior but got bullied into preferring Pokémon lol

Honestly, people reacting like this is cementing the idea in my head that diehard Pokemon fans are quickly becoming the “Disney Adults” of the video game world. It’s a very childish way to react to someone having the audacity to enjoy a thing, and encourages me to distance myself from the fandom.

While it is true Digimon > Pokémon, that is no reason for anyone to attack anyone over the subject on either side. If anyone attacks you (anyone reading this) over something petty like preferences just ignore them. Though if they just want to talk and explain why A is better than B or vice versa hear then out, lol.

Yokai Watch dominated in Japan but did nothing here in the states.

I’ve never agreed with the notion of “you can’t compare x game to x game because they’re two different things” or “why do we have to compare this to this?” When one thing is successful and the other is disliked.

You absolute can compare any work of art to any work of art. It’s all made by ppl who all have influences on the human experience. Maybe some categories you can’t compare directly, but overall I should and am able to compare hollow knight to the Witcher, Digimon to Pokémon, gravity Rush to a tell tale game, etc.
