I've seen a similar story in the comment section, and want to share my own.

I'm a wrestling fan from Ukraine, and I got familiar with this sport in 2009 when WWE hit my local channel. I've never seen Japanese wrestling before, only heard rumors and stories about it, while I spent my time familiarizing myself with WCW, ECW, TNA and ROH since I've never seen those legendary promotions in action.

This channel alone made me interested in Japanese wrestling and introduced me to many an inspiring story.

Thank you for your job, Colin. Keep up the good work.

Great video as always Colin. It’s also pretty cool that you managed to actually get Dan Spivey to appear in the documentary. Keep up the great work!

I always wondered what happened to him after he left then WWF it’s nice to see. He had a great career in Japan.

Met Dan in about 1988 or 89 I was a tiny kid, at a WCW house show in "No where Ville" Kentucky and we got to go backstage I asked Dan for a Picture with me and my best friend and offered him $10 since heels didn't have gimmick pics you would offer them $10 for a picture. I was a tall kid but I was between 7 and 8 years old, there isn't a Date on the picture and he picked us up and made that Dan Spivey face with his eyes bugging out and his teeth clinched, and we did too, while my Dad took the pictures. He was the only Heel to say yes to a picture with me and my best friend. All of the other kids liked the babyface wrestlers and went out to the lobby to get picture with them, and me and my best friend wanted to be in the 4 horsemen and be HEELS or BAD Guys! All of the other heels said NO, but that was OK because they were bad guys, I still have the picture. Dan was the tallest person I had ever seen and when he picked us up it was like we were on a skyscraper. All of the other kids at school had pictures of the babyface or the 8x10s they sold at their tables but we had 2 polaroids of us in the locker room with DAN SPIVEY which no one else had!

Dan Dan the left handed man

No pun intended; but I didn't expect Dan Spivey to be this big in Japan.

And also, the fact that he came out to a song from "Bubblegum Crisis" amuses me as both a wrestling fan and an anime fan.

Just found the channel, diggin’ it. Thanks for being a human and not BS AI. Peace and love .
👍🏼 and hyped ✌🏻🖤

It's cool as hell you got Mr. Spivey himself in the video, you knew what he meant! (Also, social media algo has been showing his page fondly remembering his wrestling career).

Hell, this video was cool as hell too. Thanks, Colin! (And thank you Dan for sharing your story o7)

He was so intimidating as both The Skyscraper and later on Waylon Mercy. I always loved Dan Spivey,

As someone who didn't have access to AJPW during the 90s, being a kid  at the time, from a small town, I really appreciate your documentaries filling int he gaps of AJPW history.  Glad you're back Colin!

Glad to see you back Colin, and glad to see Spivey's legacy go on through Bray Wyatt's character. I'd completely forgotten about that! Hope that some newer talent take more from him because those are my favorite kinds of heels.

Another absolute banger, with tons of stuff I didn't even know.  If Colin hasn't lived in Japan or used to live there I would be so surprised.  Either that or he knows people in the old tape trading community.

Spivey was legit one of my favorite wrestlers. Loved him in the Skyscrapers. Both interations. Just finished his book and its worth the read. Thanks for doing this wrestler.

A New Colin video dropped? and just in time for lunch? Some sort of wrestling miracle

11:32 clicked his just to see if the bloody killer bubble gum crisis song was mentioned, good stuff 👍🏻

Any time I saw Dan Spivey on WCW he gave me the chills.  His character work and look were SO convincing.  I remember never taking my eyes off of him when he was on the screen.

God you and your videos were so deeply missed, Colin.

Dan's a good man. He is the guy WWE sends to escort people to their rehab programs and help them feel comfortable starting addiction treatment.

No Gaijin story is complete without Johnny Ace being mentioned.

Had a good career though it was relatively short, wish he got to do more. Has the best joker-esque eyes I've ever seen.
