This is Supermassive's best game since Until Dawn, and that in of itself is super massive

Thank you Sophie as ever for joining these sessions and making them wonderful, go watch her here: https://www.twitch.tv/mscupcakes

I feel like they started at the concept of "flare gun vampire alien knife fight" and worked their way backwards and i must say its better than expected

The funniest part is that the crucifix doesn't actually do anything. It just confuses the monster which buys you time.

I love how a game about ancient vampire aliens is more coherent that a story about a man coping with his past trauma or a group of friends visiting an abandoned ship

Throwback to when Dan played The Quarry and said: "What's next, time-travelling draculas?"
He wasn't 100% right but it was close enough

Salim really is the goat. The unnatural strength of a vampire is no match for the indomitable might of Salim.

so nice to see RT immediately get attached to salim bc i immediately got attached to him as well

@AngelofGrace96 1 year ago

I love salim, he's just trying to breach the incredibly tense crosscultural borders during a batshit insane time and everyone else is just making it way too hard for him

@thefunkyfish5640 1 year ago

I love Salim being a badass who killed six of those things while nobody else thought to pick up like a sharp stick or anything

@StickMaster500 1 year ago

Salim is pretty much the MVP of this whole game as while everyone is using guns, Salim is poking these alien bat creatures with a metal stick which is why this is the best game in the series and not in “all in le head” :_rtgameLUL:

Now, before I watch, I gotta know:
In this playthrough, does Dan realize the glory that is the Iraqi Van Helsing, our boy Salim "the Slayer"?

@PJSam1998 1 year ago

For anyone wondering, the crucifix was the right choice because since you weren't immediately hostile to the vampire, he didn't immediately attack him.

my favourite part of this video is sophie making a high school musical reference and dan assuming it was from family guy

I noticed Supermassive keep trying to bring back a narrator character in their games since Until Dawn had one, but the twist was Dr. Hill wasn't actually talking to the player.

He was a manifestation of Josh's guilt who was likely based on his real pherapy sessions. It had a purpose in the story relating to Josh's character and he actually added to the horror by taking advantage of the player choices and becoming more agressive every time you saw him again.

But now they're just here to be here without actually serving the narrative.

How does 5.56 full metal jacket not go trough the vampires skin from point blank range but Salim can stake with them with nothing but the power of a middle eastern father and moral high ground.

The fact this game has actual monsters instead of a crazy plot twist makes it so much better when you have actual vampire aliens.

My favourite part of this is the falling premonition.
Both of them obsessed so hard over the smaller details of rope and falling that they totally missed the larger idea of "If you both fall, one will die" so that when it did happen, they screwed it up and got punished for it. I love it so much, hell, I imagine that's how it'd go if anyone got a premonition.
